Pink Album

We're in the middle of another lockdown here in the UK.  No mixing with other households and no 'non-essential' travel, whatever that is supposed to mean.  It was my birthday last Wednesday, so no celebrating with friends and family.  But hey ho, hubby and I are keeping safe and well and hopefully that will continue.  Looking out of the window today, watching the rain pouring down and the listening to the wind howling, it's a perfect day for doing a bit of crafting and blog visiting.

Something different to share today, a little album I made for a craft swap.  It's ready for the recipient to add their own photos.

Does anyone else keep all the little snippets of patterned paper from a paper pad after finishing a project?  This seemed a perfect opportunity to use some of them up.  All the papers were from a Dovecraft paper pad.  A used a few whole sheets of 6 x 6 papers, but as all the sheets coordinated, I could use up lots of little snippets as well.  Most of the patterns could go in either direction, which made it easier to use even small pieces.  I added a little die cut butterfly (cut from another snippet) to the front and the album is kept closed with organza ribbon.

It opens to reveals lots of pages to decorate with photographs.

I am joining in the following challenges with my album:

Another Christmas card to share today.

I found a piece of card I'd coloured with alcohol inks some time ago and it seemed perfect for a winter night's sky.  I used a Memory Box 'Quiet Cabin Landscape' die with white glitter card and added a little piece of yellow card behind the house to light up the windows.  The sentiment is a Sue Wilson 'Merry Christmas Trim' die cut and I added tiny clear gems for the stars.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

    Happy birthday (some days late)!
My husband and I had our 15th wedding anniversary two days ago, and we also had to celebrate alone. Everything is special this year.

  6. Beautiful little album Liz, this would make a lovely little gift for someone. Yes, I do tend to keep all the little snippets- I'm a terrible hoarder and hate to throw away something that 'might come in useful'.
Lovely card with the peaceful winter scene too.
    Belated Birthday wishes!

  10. I don't know if your non-essential travel means the same as ours did when we were in lockdown but we were only allowed to go to the supermarket, work if we were considered essential and out for exercise as long as it was within 5km of home. Each country probably has different definitions.
I am one who saves offcut pieces and have been trying to use some of them for Beccy's Challenge making some patchwork backgrounds on some extra cards. I have a few that I' still working on so they will make an appearance before the end of the month.
On to your card, I like the beautiful scene that you created. The sky is awesome.

    1. We don't seem to have any rules on exactly how far we can travel for exercise. Everyone seems very confused with ever-changing rules and regulations. xx

  12. Absolutely gorgeous Liz! Both the album and your super Christmas card. It's been galling today to see a house opposite with the girlfriend of the female partner's son arriving for a 'sleepover - polite term' . Then she left this morning just before the son of the male partner, plus wife and baby arrived - followed by a single/widowed sister of the female partner! Err. is it me or are they just mocking the rest of us? I give up.

And huge thanks again for your lovely card!

    Hugs

    1. Did you see the photos of the protests in Bristol yesterday against the lockdown. No masks and many of them saying a virus is a hoax. 🙄 I give up!! Just wish there was another planet they could all live on! xx
