A card I made for a recent card swap.
The frog is an old DoCrafts stamp. I bought it several years ago in a sale, but this is the first time I've used it. The frog was coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment is a SU stamp and I added three gold sequins. The layers are Lisa Horton's 'Scallop Layered Rectangle' die cuts.

There have been a few hot air balloons flying overhead lately, so it seemed an appropriate day to share this card. It brings back memories of a hot air balloon ride I took many years ago.
All the patterned papers are from a paper pad which came as a magazine cover gift some time ago. The Lin and Lene hot air balloon die cut is raised up on foam pads to add dimension. I haven't decided who will receive this card, but I thought it would be good for a feminine or masculine card.

Two super masculine makes, the frog is absolutely adorable, love the papers your layout for the hot air balloons
ReplyDeleteGreat card Liz! I did chuckle at the little fella - I too have this stamp and goes back to 2013 at least. Love the wellies - and your layers are always perfection Liz!l I remember that paper pad so well from the hot air balloon card - it was such a lovely freebie - a whole paper pad!

Such a fun fellow Liz and bright fresh colours, thanks so much for sharing and joining in our 'Allsorts' of Animals theme this week and also this months We Love Stamping challenge.
ReplyDeleteAfter my comment yesterday about blogger commenting, it restricted me to just 19, a huge drop to that allowed the previous day, wonder how today will go? One of my DT's told me the issue has been going on for about a month, so I guess with holiday and then being ill I was late noticing it.

Two lovely cards - the frog one is fun and the balloon one very summery. We used to see hot air boons on a regular basis but I've just realised that it is some years since one appeared around here.
ReplyDeleteThe frog is my favorite, but both cards are beautiful!

Lovin the frog, Liz. The frames are great and show him off beautifully. Love your balloon card, when my brother lived in Bristol, we used to see so many when we visited, we don't get them around here. Great fold too. Love your other cards, that came in one post to me. Blogger seems to be playing up doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteNext month there will be the annual balloon festival in Bristol. If the weather is good, dozens will go up over the weekend.
DeleteTwo fun cards today, Liz! That frog is over the moon to be used on a card in such a cute way ... just look at that face and the balloon step card is fantastic! I'm jealous that you've been on a hot air balloon! I could never manage the height, put like riding horses on a beach, there is an adventurous girl inside me somewhere who would love it! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLovely cards!!! The one with the hot-air balloon is just perfect for our challenge!!! Thank you for joining the July challenge of the Country View Challenges!

I adore your cute frog Liz and the colours are so bright and summery and the detailed scallopd and stitched layers in the white and green go brilliantly. The hot air balloon against the patterned paper clouds looks great and love the patterned papers on the front stepper portion. I wondered if your inspiration and balloon sightings are to do with the Balloon Fest. Hubby did a balloon flight a few years ago and flew over Bristol. I decided not to as I wasn't sure that I would like it. x
