A card I sent recently to a friend just before she was due to go into hospital for an operation.
The background was made with Distress Oxides, blended and lightly spritzed with water. The Lavinia 'Bell Flower Vine' image was stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne' and the panel layered on a black mat. The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Positive Thoughts' set.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
Friends recently set a scrapbooking challenge with a sketch. I don't very often do scrapbooking, except for the occasional mini album. So when they set a sketch challenge, I decided to use the sketch for a card instead and this is what I came up with.
The patterned paper is from The Range (the background of the patterned paper is navy, although it looks black in the photo.) I used a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder. The flowers and butterflies are punched. I added three navy pearls to the sentiment panel.
A lovely thoughtful card Liz and am sure it was well received and appreciated.

ReplyDeleteSorry that my admiration was a little late-was dealing with some family stuff this week. In any case... Such a pretty card! Your ink blending is really pretty and soft, and I love the color combination that you used. And the wonderful water spritzing really makes the background more organic, which worked so well with the pretty floral stamp. Thank you for joining us for this challenge at Shopping Our Stash and look forward to seeing you again soon!

The Lavinia Bell Flower is so pretty and the blended background with just a little water ink lifting looks wonderful Liz, and the mix of navy and yellow for the panels with the beautiful flower patterned paper and the swiss dots embossing on the others looks great, and I love the added sunflowers and butterflies and a super sentiment too. x
