My DH and I were invited to a barbecue yesterday. Well.... it turned out to be the wettest evening of the year, with heavy rain starting just as we were walking round to our friends' house and it didn't stop all evening. Thank goodness for gazebos!! They were certainly needed for the twenty four of us there. This is the Thank You card I made today for the hosts.
I printed the DigiStamp Boutique image 'BBQ Alf' and coloured it with Promarkers a couple of days ago. My intention was to make a summery card, but after the weather we had yesterday evening, I thought this design was more appropriate. The image was die cut with a MB 'Stitched Rectangle' die, which I layered on navy blue, leaving a thin border. For the background I used a MB 'A Little Rain' die with a square of blue card. I backed the die cut raindrops with white, before layering on a slightly bigger square of navy blue card. To finish my card, I added a Poppystamps 'Heart Showers Umbrella' die cut.

That image is just perfect for that card Liz. Sorry that it rained so hard. We have been over to friends too but today also for a barbeque and we were so very lucky we had sun all evening. The rain started when we left for home. Hugs Veerle x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great BBQ image Liz and love that you tailor made it to fit the weather on the day. You seem to have a die cut for every occasion with your raindrops die and umbrella and love the blue, navy and red colour theme. It's such a shame that Summer seems to have deserted us of late. x
ReplyDeleteLiz, you are a great artist. Your funny card is gorgeous. I love the beautiful image and the rain! Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun!! I love the raindrop background and the adorable image!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

ReplyDeleteA fantastic card Liz, how lucky you were to have a gazebo to shelter in.

ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect and fun way to thank your BBQ hosts! I love the raindrops in the background and especially that little umbrella accent! So cute!

Fabulous BBQ card Liz, love the raindrops here.
ReplyDeleteI think you are a follower of my old blog which is now digital only, I was hacked into and hence my newer blog. Once google sorted things out I decided to build up my followers again on this current one. I do recall your visits my friend...we have found each other again...♥

Ah, that's explains it. I came across another blog this week that I know I used to follow, but somehow seem to have unfollow at some point. Perhaps they started a new blog too. xx
DeleteA card that made me smile!! Great that you kept it clean! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card and I love how you personalised it with the weather! The British Goldpanning Association have a barbecue every year in Wales. Last year they had to take it in turns to hold down the legs of the gazebo to stop it taking off!
ReplyDeleteFortunately the garden was quite sheltered, but we pegged down the gazebos, just in case! xx
DeleteSuch a shame you had the rain Liz, but you have made the perfect thank you card! I have this image and have used it many times....I love it!

So clever to make it into a rain card and not a sunshine one x Cute idea to pop in the heart umbrella...your neighbour is going to love this one x
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeleteoh you poor thing such horrible weather.
I also feel for your hosts, but so glad the Gazebo kept you dry.
This is a splendid card and such a very wonderful design, and lovely way to show people you appreciate them.
