The Allsorts Challenge is 'Buttons and Bows'. I'm not sure why, but it's something I rarely think to put on my cards. I have a box of buttons and had an idea to use them as flower centres as I knew I had a suitable embossing folder.
The embossing folder is an old one and I'm not sure if I bought it or whether it came as a magazine freebie. The embossed patterned has a dragonfly flitting across the page, so I decided to add a silver dragonfly brad over the embossed one. After several failed attempts to use my bow maker to make a ribbon bow, I made a bow using a Sue Wilson bow die. (Note to self: I must keep practising tying a ribbon bow which actually looks neat for future cards!) The sentiment is raised up on foam pads.
I am joining in the following challenges:

That is very pretty Liz with the buttons on the flowers and the sweet dragonfly charm, and the SW die cut bow looks great too. x
ReplyDeleteLovely project. Thanks for joining in with my challenge over at Country View Crafts.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute embossing folder and adding the buttons is so pretty. The bow looks great.
ReplyDeleteA fab get well card Liz.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous combo of red, white, buttons and embossing folder. What's the name of the embossing folder please?
Have a good weekend....

There is nothing on the embossing folder to say the name or the make. I really wish manufacturers would all print something on the e/f to identify it, I know a few do. I've had it quite a few years and it might possibly have even been a magazine freebie. xx
Deletebrilliant idea to use the buttons as the centre for the flowers, perfect CAS card
ReplyDeleteA great idea to use the buttons for the flower centres on the embossing folder. Lovely clean and fresh card.
ReplyDeleteThe buttons look great in the middle of those lovely embossed flowers...know what you mean about the ribbon bows, can't believe my luck idf I manage to tie one that isn't too bulky and looks even!

Looks fab, thank you for joining us at Allsorts. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteI haven't used buttons for ages, after seeing this beautiful card I may have to search them out LOL. The buttons are so pretty and love the EF. Liz. Your bow is just perfect and so much easier!

Love the design,just gorgeous.xxx
ReplyDeleteSuper EF and a great design, love the red and white. To be honest I never think of using buttons and I am really rubbish at tying bows, so not really sure why I picked this challenge.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining our 'Buttons and Bows' challenge at Allsorts.

LOL! I'm sure it's taking a few of us out of our comfort zone! xx
DeleteGreat get well card. Love the buttons you added. I'm not that great at tying bows. Sometimes I'll make them okay and then other times I've had to throw them out because I've tied and untied so many times that the ribbon is ruined. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! I used to use buttons ALL the time, forgot I even have them! I'll have to dig mine out too now.
ReplyDeleteWow Liz, love the embossing and gorgeous buttons n bows..so cute.
ReplyDeleteHow cute!! Adorable CAS!
ReplyDeleteOh wow this is stunning Liz. Those buttons make the flowers look like they have faces.
ReplyDeleteSue xx
What a pretty and cheery card Liz! I love buttons too but rarely use them on cards, mainly because of the bulk and mailing. If hand delivering, all bets are off on using fat embellishments. lol I love that embossing folder, those little flowers are so cute and the buttons are perfect for the centers. I love too, how you highlighted the dragon fly using the brad, so cute. This card is sure to bright someone's day and make them feel better. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteLove your button flower centres Liz, and the embossing folder of course! A great card.

You used your button and bows beautifully. I seldom remember to use buttons either and I have oodles of them as well. Same with bows...I use ribbon but not bows too often.
ReplyDeleteLove how you used the embossing folder to incorporate the buttons and a creative idea to die cut the bow! x. A very pretty card Liz x
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card Liz, a lovely embossing folder - so pretty.

That is so pretty, the buttons are the perfect touch. My problem is that I have too much stuff and forget what I have! That's a gorgeous embossing folder.
