Pull Tab Card

I've wanted to try this style of card for a while, after seeing one on a shelf in a craft workshop.  I had no idea how to make it and couldn't find any written instructions online.   I managed to find a couple of videos on YouTube, so made some notes while I watched them.  I think it's called a 'Pull Tab Card'.  It's a bit like a waterfall card, but only has one flap.  I adjusted the measurements to make a 6" x 4" card.

The patterned paper is from an old paper pad.  The butterflies are from the Stampin' Up 'Butterfly Gala', stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers and punched out. Now.... I've had this set of stamps for a few months, but it wasn't until I made this card that I realised there are tiny stamps in the set to add the bodies and antennae to the butterflies.  Until now I'd been drawing them on!

When the tab is pulled the flap opens.....

....like this.  The sentiment, stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black', is from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set of stamps.  I found a leftover piece of white organza ribbon which was just long enough to tie onto the tab.  The tab was made with a Stampin' Up punch.

  21. I am well impressed with your Kinetic card. I have seen a different version to your card but the tab didn't pull the flap open. I will have to try yours. Thankyou for coming and spinning the butterfly wheel with me. Hugs Mrs A.
