Star Gazing

I used the lovely Lavinia 'Star Gazing' stamp for this 65th Spring Fold birthday card. To get the effect of the moon behind the hill, I used a circle mask and inked the sky first.  Next I removed circle mask and used torn paper to cover the sky and then inked the grass.  It took a few attempts - I had a mental block of the best way to get the effect of the moon behind the hill! The inked image was matted on silver pearlised card, although it looks grey in the photo. I used tiny clear gems for the stars and black gems along the silver border punched base.

Back from my hols....

After a wonderful holiday in Italy with my daughter, I'm getting crafty again making cards for another craft fair coming up next month.  My craft table has been moved downstairs, so I can craft and watch the World Cup on TV.  Am I the only female who is enjoying the football??  From the topic of recent conversations, I'm being to wonder if I am!! Here are a couple of cards I made this week, using some favourite stamps I've not used for a while.

Fimo embellishments

I spent a lovely morning at the Busy Bee Café in Downend last Friday with Karen, learning to use Fimo to make card embellishments. A trip to Hobbycraft afterwards to buy some Fimo and cutters and I was all set.  Here is the first card I made using a Fimo flower..... well it had to be a sunflower, didn't it! (Toasties in the café were pretty good too!)
