Sunflower Shadow Box Card

A sunflower shadow box card to share today.

I made an aperture in the front of the card using a circle die.  The frame was made with a Memory Box a 'Stitched Scalloped Circle' die and a 'Stitched Circle' die.  For the flower I used a Cheery Lynn die, cut it twice and layered one on top of the other.  The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works.

Here are a few cards from my draft folder which I haven't had a chance to post on my blog.

The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Verdant'.

Winged Card
Patterned paper from a Dovecraft 'Garden Party' paper pad. The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Painted Glass' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Green Oasis'. The flower was made with dies from the first Lisa Horton box kit.

Triple Fold Card
Patterned paper from a paper pad from The Works.   The flowers are Sue Wilson 'Pinwheel Floral' die cuts layered over punched circles.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Butterflies

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Dena has chosen the theme of 'Butterflies'.  I made a birthday card using a fold I discovered recently when I saw a photo of a card a friend had made.  It was pretty easy to work out how to make it from the photo and I made mine to measure 6" x 4" when folded flat.
The papers are from a paper pad from The Range.  The butterfly is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Butterfly Gala', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist' and a little turquoise colour added with Promarkers.  The sentiment it a stamp from the SU 'Humming Along' set stamped using the same ink pad.  I finished off my card with three tiny turquoise pearls.

Prizes this month are from Craft StashAnna Marie DesignsAALL and CreateOakwood

Five Panel Christmas card

The Rudolph Days August Challenge begins today, which means we are another month nearer Christmas! A simple fold for today's card.

The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works.  I used a Sue Wilson 'Christmas Tree Greetings' die with white non-shed glitter card for the focal point.

Summer Holiday Tower Card

I made this Tower Card for a recent card swap, where the theme was 'Summer Days'.

The patterned paper was from two paper pads, one from The Range and one from The Works and a snippet of blue mottled card for the sky. The sand is non-shed glitter card.  I used one of the dies from the Joanna Sheen 'Beach Huts' set and added dark grey paper behind the little square at the top and the open door.

Good Luck to the Lionesses!

A card made today inspired by the Lionesses.  I know what I'll be doing at 11am UK time tomorrow.  Fingers crossed they can win the final.

I made a stepper card which measures 6" x 4" when folded.  I used a wood mounted Francoise Read, 'Footy Girl' rubber stamp which I've had for years and coloured the image with Promarkers, using the colours of the England football kit.  The image was die cut into a rectangle with a Creative Dies 'Wonky Stitches' die. The footballs are peel offs, attached to snippets of white card and fussy cut.  I added a little strip of white card embossed with a football embossing folder underneath the sentiment to add a little texture.

Trifold Card

A masculine birthday card I made for a friend.

The patterned balloon paper was from an old paper pad, I'm not sure of the brand.  The text patterned paper was from Anna Marie Designs and I used a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder for the white squares.  I used balloon dies  from a Trimcraft set of dies, 'Birthday Party' and the balloons are attached with foam pads.

Thank You

Friends recently hosted a barbecue in their garden and this is the card I made to thank them.

I used a Crafter's Companion 'Thank You For Everything' die in a 6" x 6" card blank, the stamp was part of the same set.  The embossing was done with a Couture Creations 'Fireflies embossing folder. The barbecue and tool was made with dies from the Sue Wilson 'King of the Grill' set and I added a little orange ink to the flames before I assembled all the little pieces.

I added a piece of red card to the inside back of the card.

Then and Now

A fairly CAS monochrome card to share today, in shades of purple.

I used a Memory Box 'Distressed Windham Collage' die in the corner.  The butterfly was made with Memory box  'Pippi Butterfly' and 'Isabella Butterfly' dies and I added the flight path with a fineliner pen. The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set, stamping in Versafine Clair 'Fantasia'.

I made this card after seeing a challenge on 'aNNie's World Wide Crafty Inventions' Facebook page.  The challenge was to show a card or any project you did when first started crafting and a card of how you do things now.  I made the card on the left at a cardmaking class nearly 20 years ago. (I still have it!) We were taught how to use peel offs to make a card, everything on the card was a peel off. Fast forward about 20 years and I made the card on the right yesterday ..... die cut butterfly and design in the corner + a stamped sentiment. Here are the two cards side by side.

Allsorts Challenge ~ All Creatures Great and Small

The Allsorts Challenge starting today will run for two weeks and Brenda has chosen the theme 'All Creatures Great and Small'.

I've had this Woodware 'Hog Rest' stamp for ages, but this is the first time it's been inked up.  I thought it would make a good image for a masculine Get Well card.  The image and sentiment are stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and the image is coloured with Promarkers. I used a Get Well Soon die from Lisa Horton's 'Word Strips Volume 1' set, a preloved set I bought recently and used for the first time.  My card is finished off with five blue Card Candi.

Happy Birthday

I've seen this style of card several times recently and this is my version.   Apparently it's called either a Triple Stand Up Card or a Double Front Pop Up Card.

The patterned paper was from a paper pad from The Works.
I make the flower with a set of dies I bought recently and as I'm using for the first time, I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS Challenge.  The flower was layered on two Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die cuts. The butterflies were punched and the sentiment is from the SU 'Confetti Celebration' set.

The card folds flat for posting and measures 6" x 6".

Thank You

A thank you card I can post on my blog now that I know it's been received.  The current Butterfly Challenge requires just a butterfly and flowers, so I'll be joining in the challenge with this card.  As everything, apart from the card base and the pink card, was snippets I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.

:
I used a Crafter's Companion 'Thank You For Everything' die in a 6" x 6" card blank.  The stamped sentiment is from the same set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Charming Pink' and the banner was hand cut.  The top panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder. The patterned paper was from a paper pad from The Works and  I picked out two of the colours in the flowers to make the butterfly.  The butterfly was made with Memory Box 'Pippi Butterfly' and 'Isabella Butterfly' dies.

I covered the inside back page with a piece of pink card.

We Love Stamping ~ Masculine

I was delighted to be invited to be a Guest Designer for the We Love Stamping August Challenge which begins today with the theme of 'Masculine'.  For my GD card I made a Bay Window card.

The image is an old wood mounted Francoise Read 'Footy Boy' stamp.  I've had it for over 15 years and also have a similar 'Footy Girl' stamp, because girls like football too!  The image is coloured with Promarkers in our local team's football kit and I added three black pearls in the top corner.  I didn't have a football stamp the right size, so I used peel offs, attached to pieces of white card and fussy cut.  The stamp also had a football as part of the design, but I decided to use another peel off on top of the stamped one to make it match the other three.

I used a Crafts Too football embossing folder for the side panels and also for a panel inside the back panel.  The card folds flat for posting.

Crafty Calendar Challenge ~ Anything Goes

We returned home late last night from a few days in our caravan in North Devon.  Looking at the forecast for this weekend of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds, we decided to cut our holiday short and come home several days early.  It feels more like autumn today, I hope we've still got some summer sunshine to come this year!

The Crafty Calendar August Challenge begins with the easy theme of 'Anything Goes'. Our sponsor this month is Hetty Clare Art.

For my DT card, I used a precoloured Hetty Clare Art digi stamp 'The Hamster Flower'.  The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works.  I finished off my card with three pink sequins.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th August.  Please head over to the blog to see all the beautiful cards the DT have made for inspiration.
