New Baby

Friends of ours became grandparents a few weeks ago and this is the card I made for them.  Another fancy fold card following instructions on Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page.  A really simple card to make this time.

The patterned paper is from Limetree Crafts.  I die cut a Memory Box 'Baby Carriage' with pink pearlised card and layer it on a Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circle' die cut.

I decorated the inside and added a plain panel for the message.

This is card I made for the proud parents.  I've known the Mum since she was a little girl, in fact I taught her when she was a seven year old.
The frame and all the elements are Creative Expressions die cuts, using pink and silver pearlised card.

Snowdrop Sympathy Card

A CAS sympathy card to share today.

I used a Creative Expressions 'Snowdrop Edger' with white card and layered it on a pale green mat.  I added a sentiment and as the card was going to a man, I decided not to add anything else.

Twofer

Thank you for all your positive comments in my last post.  Day 8 today, still testing positive, so still self-isolating.

I CASE'd this project HERE to make my crate of spring flowers.  I used flower and leaf dies and a sentiment stamp from the Lisa Horton's first box kit.  I added some clear gems in the middle of the flowers.  The flowers are attached to strips inside the crate, the same as in a Pop-up Box card.

A quick and simple Christmas card today, upcycling a shop bought card we received last Christmas.  I cut the card into a square and corner rounded the corners.  The background is gold mirror card from the Scrapstore, die cut into into a scalloped square using a Lisa Horton's  'Stitched Scallop Layered Squares' die.  Must be the quickest card I've ever made and only cost me the price of the card blank.

Back in my Craftroom

After two years of avoiding Covid, it finally caught up with me last weekend.  Despite being triple jabbed, I spent five days in bed with little energy to do anything and dosed myself up to clear the heavy cold symptoms I had.  Feeling a little better today, I went into my craft room to finish off a card I started over a week ago.

I'm not sure if this fold has a name, but it was demonstrated by Lisa on her Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page last week.

The papers were from a paper pad I bought at The Range and I think these papers are perfect for masculine cards.  I added some punched leaves to embellish my card.  All the orange mats and leaves were made with snippets, so I'll be sharing my card in The Playground.

Spring Fold Card

A Spring Fold card to share today.

I used a Cuttlebug ' Swiss Dots' embossing folder.  I think this was the first embossing folder I ever bought, many years ago.  The flower was made with dies from the Sue Wilson 'Passion Flower' set.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the decorative border on the base and added a couple of tiny punched flowers.

Book Binding Fold

Update on my last post.  I can now comment using my profile pic on other blogs using my iPad. 😀  However, I still haven't worked out how to sign out of my blog.  When I click on 'sign out' it just takes me to my editing page.  Another problem I have is that quite a few blogs aren't appearing on my Reading List, so I'm missing lots of new posts on blogs I follow.  I'm still working on how to fix all these glitches, so apologies if I haven't left you a comment for a while.

The current Butterfly Challenge is  'B for Book Binding Fold'.   This is new fold to me, but an easy one to make and Mrs A has put instructions on the Butterfly Challenge blog HERE.  The six elements for the challenge are Buff, Bondi Blue, Bougainvillea, Banana, Braid and Book Binding Fold.  I've included all the six elements on my card.

I used an MFT 'Stitched Cover-Up Companion - Diagonal' die for the main die cut, a prize I won some time ago in The Playground.  I used the die again with a snippets of coloured card and inlaid the cutouts into the spaces, after embossing them with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.  The sentiment is an IO 'Thanks' die cut, another prize from The Playground.   I added three tiny pearls to Simply Creative 'Butterfly' die cut.  A strip of floral ric rac braid finished off my card.

10th Blogaversary! .....and a some advice please.

For some reason I can't leave a comment on other blogs using my profile and many blogs don't allow anonymous comments, so sorry if I haven't left you a comment lately.  Any advice to solve the problem would be welcome, before I tear all my hair out!  I'm trying to leave comments using my iPad, which I usually use, and this problem has only recently happened.  I'm on computer tonight to write this post, so I'm hoping I'll be able to leave some comments using the computer, unless Google/Blogger decides otherwise!

Back to my post.... little did I know that 10 years ago today when I started my blog,  that I would still be blogging 10 years later and have made so many crafty blogging friends around the world.  I set up my blog originally just to keep a record of the cards I've made.... and the rest is history.   Thank you to everyone who has visited my blog, especially everyone who takes the time to leave me a comment.  They really are appreciated.

My favourite type of card to make is a fancy fold card, so I thought it appropriate to share one today. I think the name for this is a Pop-Up Easel Card.
The papers are from a Trimcraft 'Sail Away' paper pad.  The mini easel was made with  Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' dies and the yacht is a Memory Box 'Marine Sailboats' die cut.  I used a red brad from my brad mountain as a stopper for the little easel.

International Women's Day

International Women's Day
8th March 2022

Thinking especially of all the Ukrainian women today who are affected by the conflict.
#StayStrong
I used a Lisa Horton's 'Padded Quilt' embossing folder for the background and added a white strip of card across the middle.  The sunflower is a Cheery Lynn die cut.  I cut the flower out twice to make the flower fuller and raised it up on foam pads.  The sentiment is a SU stamp and I finished off my card with four Card Candi.  All the card, except for the card base was from my snippets draw, so I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.

When Di sent out the prizes for the Grand Draw, she included a little notelet with the challenge to upcycled the notelet into a new card.  I kept it quite simple, by cutting off the notelet front, corner rounding the corners and layering on a pink mat.  The card base and larger mats were corner rounded too and I added a silver mirror card die cut sentiment and three heart.  The finished card was sent back to Di.

Blue, Yellow and Sunflowers

💙🌻💛
Another blue and yellow card.  I used a sketch for my design.

The punched sunflowers are layered on Sue Wilson's 'Stitched Flags' die cuts.  I used an old Sizzix embossing folder for the background.  The sentiment stamp is from a Happy Little Stampers set of stamps, which is sadly discontinued.  I finished off my card with three punch hearts.

Happy Easter

It's time for the March Crafty Calendar Challenge and the theme this time is 'Spots/Stripes/Easter'. Our sponsor this month is Digi Doodle Studios.

Our sponsor kindly gave the DT digi stamps to work with and I chose Daisy May and Sweet PeaI coloured the image with Promarkers.  The patterned paper is from an old paper pad, I'm not sure of the brand.  The flower is a die cut from Lisa Horton's first box kit.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th March.  Please pop over to the challenge blog to see the fabulous cards the DT have made for inspiration.

Standing with Ukraine

💙 ðŸ’›

A card made this week inspired by the bravery of the Ukrainian people, using the colours of the national flag and national flower.
