Beautiful Tulip

A Thank You card which I can share now that I know it has been received.

I was lucky enough to win this beautiful Bee Crafty 'BEAUtanicals Large ~ Tulip' stamp recently in the Allsorts Challenge and it was perfect to use on a DL card.  I decided to stencil the background with a Lavinia 'Laurel' stencil.  I stamped the image on white card and made a mask with the tulip stamp, before stencilling with 'Mowed Lawn' Distress Ink.  The tulip was coloured with Promarkers.  I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair 'Charming Pink' and hand cut the banner.  To balance the design, I added five tiny pearls, coloured with one of the green Promarkers I'd used on the flower.

Slide and Lock Card

The current Butterfly Challenge ends tomorrow, so I'm sneaking in with a last minute entry.  The theme this time is 'S for Slide and Lock Card'.  The elements this time are 'Slide and Lock Card/ Stitching/ Shimmering Blush (pale pink) /Steel Blue/ Sea Green + a Butterfly'.  Mrs A has put the instructions for making a slide and lock card HERE.

I googled 'Sea Green' and it covers quite a few shade of green, including the one on the butterfly patterned paper and stamped sentiment and I hope the blue is 'steely' enough.  The patterned paper has a pale pink background and I've added some pale pink enamel dots on the sentiment panel.

I've added some faux stitching inside with a fineliner pen.  The little butterfly is punched and I used the fineliner pen for the flight path.

Tower Card

A tower card to share today, which I made for a card swap.

I die cut two circles using Sue Wilson 'Double Pierced Circles'.  I used dies from the Sizzix 'Floral Wreath' set and the patterned paper was from my snippets drawer.  I finished off my card with a stamped sentiment.

The card folds flat for posting.

Poinsettias

The Rudolph Days Challenge begins today and runs until the end of the month.

I used a Lisa Horton Poinsettia embossing folder, which also cuts out an aperture.  After embossing in white I also embossed the main poinsettia in red and green, fussy cut out the shapes and layered over the white poinsettia.  I stamped  the sentiment on a snippet of white card and attached it behind the aperture, before layering on a red card blank.  I few yellow gems finished off my card.

Stitched Swan

I love adding cross stitching to my cards and I made this one for a friend who loves swans.

I used a Marianne Cross Stitch die and die cut it into a square with a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die.  The cross-stitching was done with crochet cotton and I raised the layered image up on foam tape.  The panel was embossed with a Sheena Douglass 'Water Ripple' embossing folder.  I punched three circle in the colours I'd used for the cross-stitching and raised them up on foam pads.  The sentiment is a stamp from Happy Little Stampers.

Lavinia Scene

Welcome to my two new followers, Jill Johnson and Louise Harper.  I hope you stop by my blog again soon.

Another card today using Lavinia stamps.

I started by lightly stencilling the background using a Lavina 'White Orbs' stencil and Distress Ink.  All the stamps are from Lavinia, 'The Wallace Family', 'Seren' and 'Vine'.  I used a mask and Distress Ink to ground the fairy and the hedgehog and added a little yellow ink to the lantern.  The sentiment is a SU stamp from the 'Best Year' set.  I layered the two white pieces of card on a black mat.

Triple Circle Easel Card

I'd just finished writing this post, when the whole post just disappeared......  I mean the post was still there, but the photo and all the text just disappeared and I was left with a blank page!  So, I'll try again. 🙄

A Triple Easel Card to share today, I do love using my Lavinia stamps.  All three parts are the same size, although the middle one looks smaller in the photo.  The three easels are attached by the bases to form one card.

I used a Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circle' die to make the card bases.  The plain white circles were stencilled with a Lavinia 'Pebbles' stencil and 'Mowed Lawn' Distress Ink.  I blended a little extra ink around the edges of each circle.  All the stamps are from Lavina, 'Woodland Hares', 'The Wallace Family'. 'Group of Hearts Mini' and 'Fern Leaf', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocture'.  I grounded the animals with same green ink as the stencilling.  The green circles are green card, embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Forest Branches' embossing folder, with a little green ink blended over the top to add some definition.  To enable the easels to stand up, I punched three white circles, put a flower brad through each one and attached the circles with foam pads.  (I'm doing my best to make brads have a comeback as I have so many. 🤣)  All the card I used was from my snippets box, even the card bases, so I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.

Gatefold Easel Card

I saw a video of this 'new to me' fold over on the 'Nifty Noodles Crafting' Facebook page and want to try it out.  I think it's called a Gatefold Easel Card and my card will be posted off tomorrow for a card swap.

I was lucky enough to win this beautiful Chocolate Baroque 'Ophelia' stamp in the Allsorts Challenge.  I stamped and coloured it with Promarkers a few weeks ago and couldn't decide on a card design for it.  So today I decided to used it on this card.  The patterned paper was from Papermania and Vintage Chic Creations paper pads.  I used turquoise non-shed glitter card for all the mats to add some sparkle. The sentiment is a stamp from the Happy Little Stampers 'Birthday Friends' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Warm Breeze'.

The card is  kept closed with organza ribbon, attached at the back.

Here is the view when the card is first opened.  I think I will be using this stamp a lot!

Reach for the Moon!

The young man who lives next door left home for the first time to go to university this week.  This is the card I made for him to wish him good luck.

The sentiment is an old Inkadinkado stamp I bought at least 12 years ago, stamped in navy with the moon coloured in with yellow.  For matting and layering, I used a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die and 'Postage Square Layers' die. The patterned paper square was hand cut to leave a border of dots. I raised the layered square up on foam pads. The dotty and striped patterned paper was from Anna Marie Designs.  Three punched stars finished off my card

Our Anniversary

My hubby and I have just returned from a short break in beautiful Dorset to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  This is the Joy Fold card I made for him.

I used a Bugaboo digi stamp and coloured it was Promarkers.  The patterned paper is from and old DoCrafts paper pad and a silver brad keeps the card closed.

An extra sentiment is hidden inside. 😊

Paper piecing

There is a special challenge over in the Allsorts Challenge this week in memory of DT member Kath who sadly passed away recently.  I know she will be missed by so many crafters in blogland.  The theme of the challenge is 'Favourite Stamps with the option of Paper Pieced Flowers'.  I decided to use one of my favourite flower stamps, which is perfect for paper piecing.

The stamp is a Penny Black 'Whispers' stamp, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Verdant'.  I paper pieced the flower with patterned paper from Lili of the Valley, 'Perfect Pair' paper pad.  I used Lisa Horton's 'Scallop Layered Rectangle' dies for matting and layering.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Confetti Celebration', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Glamorous' and I raised the sentiment up on foam pads.

Good Luck

My eleven year old great nephew started at Senior School this week and I wanted to make him a good luck card. (He's too old now to have a cute card. 😉)  His primary school was a small village school, so I knew it was going to be a big change for him.

I decided on blue, kraft and white for the colour scheme.  I used a dreamcatcher die with kraft card and again with blue card, snipping off the blue feathers and layering them over the kraft ones.  I used Memory Box 'Stitched Oval Layers' dies for the mats.  The background is embossed with a Crafts Too 'Feathers' embossing folder.  The letters are dies from the Memory Box 'Parker Upper Alphabet Set' of dies.  I originally cut all the letters in blue and curved 'LUCK' around the bottom of the oval.  However, as the letters are different widths, I couldn't get the curve to look right, so I carefully prised them off, recut them in white and layered them on a blue mat.

Anniversary Card

Welcome to my new follower, Farida of FR Creaciones

The Allsorts Challenge this week has the option of  'For the Love of your Life'.   I have made an anniversary card for my hubby, but as we will celebrating our anniversary next week, I'll be saving that one to post on my blog next week.  Instead I'll share an anniversary card I made for friends who will be celebrating their anniversary on the same day as us.  (They won't look at my blog.) We have been married two hours longer than them! 😉  So, not exactly a card for the Love of my Life, but rather a card for friends who will be celebrating with the love of their life.

For the embossing, I used a Lisa Horton's 'Layered Petals' 3D embossing folder.  I used a snippet of silver mirror card with a die from the Memory Box 'Stitched Country Borders' set to create an panel and layered a strip of patterned organza ribbon over the top.  I used silver mirror card with a Sue Wilson's 'Decorative Squares' to make a mat.  The heart is from the Sue Wilson 'Mr and Mrs' set of dies.  I added a sentiment, layered on a silver mirror card mat.  All the silver mirror card was snippets, in fact it came from the local scrap store quite a few years ago, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground.

Crafty Calendar Challenge

The Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today with the theme 'Anything Goes' and ends on 28th September. I decided to make a Bow Window card for my DT card, one of my current favourite folds.

Sheepski Designs, one of our sponsors this month kindly gave the DT images to work with and I chose 'Shopping in Yorkshire'.  The lovely image is coloured with Promarkers.  The patterned paper is from an old Dovecraft paper pad.  I used a sentiment from the Stampin' Up 'Vertical Greetings' set and added a couple of white pearls.  To finish my card, I added a handbag brad which I've had in my stash for ages.

Thank you to our two sponsors this month, Sheepski Designs and Crafty Ribbons.

Please pop over to the Crafty Calendar Challenge to see all the beautiful creations the Design Team have made.

Sympathy card

Welcome to my new follower, Nana Connie of Grammy's Attic.  Thank you for following me, I hope you can stop by my blog again soon.

A quick and easy card to share today for my box of ready-made cards.

I punched some squares from snippets of black card using an Xcut postage stamp punch.  I cut some smaller squares from snippets of patterned paper and layered them over the punched black squares.  I added a sentiment using a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Painted Glass', stamped in grey.

Lavinia Cards

A few CAS cards to share today.

I started by using masking tape to create a panel on the card blank.  I lightly blended ink over the panel with blue Distress ink, then blended more of the ink over a Lavinia 'Pebble' stencil.  I stamped a Lavinia 'Lilly' stamp using Versafine Clair 'Nocturne'.  I put some of the blue ink on an acrylic block, spritzed with a little water and painted the flowers.  That's when I had a little mishap and I realised that I had accidentally smudged some black on the white card blank. So, I cut off the stencilled panel and attached it to a new card blank.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set.  Lavinia Stamps are some of my favourite stamps, so I'll be sharing my cards over in the We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge.

My second card, using Lavinia 'Three Woodland Mice' stamps and a stamp from the 'Mushroom Lantern Set'.  I  used a  Lavinia 'Feather Leaf ' stencil for the background.

For this card I made a mask by die cutting a circle in a scrap of card.  I inked through the circle aperture with Distress Ink.  Keeping the mask in place, I inked again through a Lavinia 'White Orbs' stencil.  The stamped images are Lavinia 'Mushroom Lantern Set' and the sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Positive Thoughts' set.

I made two more cards with a similar design.
