Recycled Christmas Card

The Rudolph Days Challenge begins today and Maureen has passed the reins over to Helen Nile to run the challenge.  Many thanks to both Maureen and Helen. You can now find the Rudolph Days Challenge HERE, so we can all continue to keep on track with making our Christmas cards this year and inspire each other.

'
I'm planning to recycle as many of the cards we received last Christmas as I can and turn them into new cards.  This is the first one.  I used Lisa Horton's 'Scalloped Layered Squares Dies' to die cut the shop bought card and matt gold card. I put a clear gem in the middle to add a little sparkle.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Things that Fly

It's my turn to choose the theme for this week's Allsorts Challenge and I've chosen 'Things that Fly'.  Birds, butterflies, aeroplanes, kites.....or will you choose something else that flies?  There is always the option of Anything Goes for the challenge.

I used a Gemini 'Floral Aperture Create-A-Card Die - Spring Blooms' into the front of the cream coloured card blank and added the die cut pink flowers with tiny cream pearls in the centres. The butterfly was made with Memory box  'Pippi Butterfly' and 'Isabella Butterfly' dies.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Charming Pink'.

I decorated the inside of the card with patterned paper from The Works.

Prizes are from our generous sponsors,  AALL and Create and Aldridge Crafts.

Snippets Stepper Card + London Photos

Is anyone else still checking their spam comments?  Most days there is at least one genuine comment in my spam and some days there are several.

Onto today's card, a masculine stepper birthday card for my nephew who will be celebrating his 30th birthday in a couple of weeks.
The card base was made with a Presscut 'Step Card' die.  The patterned paper it from The Works.  I layered the Lin and Lene seahorse on the Spellbinders scalloped oval mat.

I used lots of snippets, including turquoise for the mat which I forgot to take a photo of.

As promised in a previous post, a few photos of my recent trip to London with my daughter, Joanna.
The main purpose of going was to see the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour in the O2.  Last time we were in London, Joanna had me climbing over the top of the O2!

We visited St Paul's Cathedral. The last went inside I was a teenager, but didn't get the chance to climb inside the dome to the whispering gallery that time.

So we climbed up the steps to the Whispering Gallery. (I can now cross that off my bucket list.)

We carried on up the 528 steps to the Stone Gallery and finally to the Golden Gallery, which is a walkway on top of the dome.

During a guided walk around London, we went down Pudding Lane  and saw the plaque marking the spot where the Great Fire of London started in 1666.  (Did you know that if you put Roman numerals in order of value, the date is 1666?)

We saw lots of famous London landmarks.

We went to 'Frameless', an amazing immersive experience, where works of art come to life as you navigate the rooms.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Use Pink

Dena has chosen the theme 'Use Pink' for this week's Allsorts Challenge, with the optional theme of Anything Goes.

I used a MFT 'Cross-Stitch Flower Frame' die with pink card, the cross-stitching was done with crochet cotton.  I made the flower with dies from the Sue Wilson 'Passion Flower' set and added a pink pearl in the middle.  The banner was made with dies from the Sue Wilson 'Stitched Flags' set.  The patterned paper is from The Works.  I stamped a sentiment using a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Charming Pink'.

Valentine Card

I came home late yesterday evening from a lovely few days in London with my daughter, Jo.  On Sunday we went to the O2 to see the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour, the tickets were a birthday present from Jo.... and what an amazing show it was!  I'll post a few photos in a later post.

So, today is Valentine's Day.  Happy Valentine day to all visitors to my blog.  Here is the card I made for my hubby.

I used a Memory Box 'Heart Waterfall' die for the panel on the left. The plain coloured panels were embossed with an Xcut 'Small Polka Hearts' embossing folder.  The red hearts in the squares are punched.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Hearts

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Mervi has chosen the theme of 'Hearts', a perfect theme with Valentine's Day this week, or perhaps you will make an anniversary or wedding card.  As always there is always the Anything Goes option.

I used a 'Heart of Hearts'die by Impression Obsession in a white die cut stitched circle and layered it on a red and a white circle mat.  I made the rocker with a circle die cut folded in half and added a red semicircle.  The letters are Memory Box 'Alphabet Soup' die cuts.  Two white heart-shaped pearls finished off my card.

Thinking of You

I made this card for a good friend whose husband tragically died suddenly this week.  He spent so much of his time volunteering to help others, left this world far too young and will be missed by so many people.

I used my favourite flower die, Memory Box 'Prim Poppies'.  The background panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.  Three lilac pearls finished off my card.

I used snippets for this card, so will be sharing this card over in The Playground.

Belt and Buckle Card

The Butterfly Challenge this time is 'B for Belt and Buckle Card'.  I haven't seen this fold before so was keen to try it out.  You can find the instructions HERE.  There are also a choice of six colours + border or Birthday Wishes..... plus the usual butterfly.  For my card I've chosen to use the Shaped Card and Birthday Wishes.  My card includes four of the six colours (although I only needed to use two)... Buttermilk, Bud Green, Burgandy and inside there is Baby Pink.

The patterned paper is from a Wild Rose Studio paper pad 'Butterfly Garden'.  It was a cover gift with a magazine dated 2012!  I added three burgundy pearls to pick out the burgundy in the butterflies.

I decided to put the sentiment inside and it's covered by the 'belt' when the card is closed.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along', stamped with Versafine 'Crimson Red', which is a lovely burgundy shade of red.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Let’s Play Bingo

This is my second post today, please scroll down to see my Crafty Calendar Challenge DT card.

Brenda has chosen the theme for this week's Allsorts Challenge and it's a Bingo Challenge.  The Bingo card is below and you can follow any line, vertical, horizontal or diagonal.  I chose the middle horizontal line..... Happy Birthday, Green, Fairy.

My DT card is a Hexagon Pop-Up Card, which I made for my granddaughter.  You can find the instructions for the fold HERE. The fairy is a Lavinia 'Eve' stamp and I've added a little colour with Promarkers. I used Memory Box stitched dies for the layered circle.  The stencil 'Feather Leaf' and all the other stamps I used were from Lavinia Stamps. I used 'Mowed Lawn' Distress Ink for the backgrounds.

I've just realised that my card could also be the left vertical line..... Distress Ink, Happy Birthday, Stencil.

Here is the Bingo Card.  Which vertical, horizontal or diagonal line will you choose to use?  If you can't choose a line of three, there is always the Anything Goes option.
Prizes this time are from our generous sponsor, Stampendous.
