Thank You Card

It's nearly a week since I last posted on my blog and I've got quite a bit of blog visiting to catch up on too.  It's been a strange week, some of the lockdown restrictions have been lifted, but we've still mostly been staying at home.   For some reason it's been hard to get motivated to do anything this week, but I've managed to make quite a few cards for a variety of occasions which I'll sharing over the next week or so.

A CAS Thank You card to share today, now that I know it's been received.
The sentiment is a Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday' die cut on a cream card blank.   I used a Poppystamps 'Dancing Faerie' and put a punched silver glitter card star in her hand to add a bit of sparkle.

Naughty or Nice?

The May Rudolph Days Challenge begins today and runs until the end of the month.

I've use a Dr Digi digi stamp 'Naughty or Nice?' which I coloured with Promarkers.  The image and mat was die cut with 'Stitched Circle Layers' dies.  The sentiment is computer generated and the flag banner was cut by hand.  I finished off my card with three green Card Candi.

Sunflowers

The restrictions on distances we are allowed to travel have been lifted in the UK, so we took the opportunity to travel about an hour or so to visit our daughter for the first time since lockdown yesterday ..... socially distancing outside.  Jo first contracted Covid-19 eight weeks ago and was very ill for the first couple of weeks and a test two weeks ago revealed that she was still positive for the virus.  She has finally been given the all clear to return to work next week.  It's been a long and worrying eight weeks, but a relief to be able to see her yesterday.

A Get Well card to share today, to add to my box of readymade cards.

The image is an old pre-loved Hook, Line and Inker wood mounted stamp, which I bought over 15 years ago.  The date on the stamp is 1993!   I coloured the image with Promarkers, before die cutting with a Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle Layers' die.  The layered image is raised up on foam pads.  The row of tiny pearls along the yellow strip of card are white, although they look yellow in the photo.  The sentiment is from the Happy Stampers 'Doodled Flowers' set of stamps.  I'm not sure of the brand of the embossing folder as there is nothing written on it, but I think it may be a Creative Expressions one.  All the card, except for the base card, was snippets so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground.

Anniversary Card

An Anniversary card today for friends, which I thought I'd make using purple instead of the traditional pink or red.  I love the combination of purple and white, it always reminds of my wedding many years ago, when I was in white and my bridesmaids were in purple.
The background is embossed with a Creative Expressions 'Heart Lattice' embossing folder, one of my favourite e/f for anniversary cards.  The die cut heart is silver mirror card.

My daughter gave me some money for Mother's Day to buy 'some of that craft cardboard you use'.  Can you tell she's not a crafter? LOL!  I went on the Sizzix website last week and spent the money in their 70% off sale and this arrived yesterday.  So much more exciting than buying 'craft cardboard'. 😊

Twofer - Flowers

The theme for the Twofer Challenge this month is 'Flowers'.  Two card designs, for two different occasions, using the same stamp, die or stencil.
I used a stamp from the SU 'Painted Poppies' set of stamps on both my cards.

I am joining in the Twofer Challenge with this pair of cards:

My first card is a Fancy Fold card and this is the card when it is closed with a few red pearls added to the top corners.

This shows the card open.  I used SU papers and the sentiment is from the SU 'Humming Along' set of stamps.   I used Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' dies to layer the sentiment.

Here is another view of the card.

My second card is a CAS One Layer card.  I used Distress Ink to stencil a background, before stamping the poppies and colouring them with Promarkers.  The sentiment is from the 'Humming Along' set of stamps.

New Baby

Welcome to my new follower, Pinky of Pinky's World Stampin' Projects.  I hope you can stop by my blog again soon.

I've been waiting for this card to arrive at its destination before posting on my blog.  I sent it over a month ago, but it only arrived a day or two ago.  It only had to travel about 100 miles, but I guess in these difficult times post sometimes takes longer to arrive.  It was sent to the daughter and husband of friends of ours, and the grandparents are still waiting for their  first cuddle.
I used dies from the Sue Wilson 'New Arrival' collection, using blue pearlised and matt silver card.  The text was computer generated to personalise the card.  Three tiny blue pearls finished off my card.

Butterfly

Happy 75th Anniversary of VE Day!

I made this card last night and intended to link it to the Allsorts Challenge this morning, but I got carried away in the kitchen cooking for the celebrations later this afternoon.   So I'm joining in the challenge by the skin of my teeth!
I used a Memory Box Large Circle Burst in a square of red card, slightly smaller than the card blank.  I dry embossed three lines on each side before attaching to the card blank.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up 'Varied Vases' stamp set, stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black'. The butterfly was made with Poppystamps 'Lyndon Butterfly' and 'Elsa Butterfly' dies.  I wanted to add a body to the butterfly, so used the body from a Memory Box 'Pippi Butterfly' die. The white corners are Sizzix Sizzlets 'Photo Corners' die cuts..... using a really old die!

Bluebell

A 'Thank You' card I can share, now that I know it's been received.  I won this beautiful flower die recently over on Poppyfield Card Crafts blog.

The bluebell die is part of a two piece Spellbinders 'Bluebells & Lily Of The Valley' set.   I die cut the flower from a snippet of white card and coloured it with 'Bluebell' and 'Grass' Promarkers.    The corner die is a Memory Box 'Distressed Baptisia Collage' die.  I used 'Bluebell' Promarker to colour a large snippet of white card and used it to back the corner die cut.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set, layered on a piece of leftover 'Bluebell' coloured card and raised up on foam pads.

Anniversary Stepper Card

I discovered this morning that friends of ours are celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary today.  As they live about a mile away, I thought I'd make them a card and deliver it later on our daily walk.

I made a stepper card base using a Presscut 'Centre Stepper Card' die.  The red is pearlised card and is a really beautiful shade of deep red.  I computer generated the names and dates before die cutting the hearts with  Impression Obsession 'Heart of Hearts' die.  The sentiment is also computer generated.  I finished off the card by adding two white, pearl hearts.

Zeddy the Zebra

The May Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today, with the theme 'Black and White'.

Our generous sponsor this month is Oddball Art who kindly gave the DT images for our cards this month. I chose Zeddy the Zebra and coloured him with black and grey Promarkers.  I used a Presscut 'Centre Stepper Card' die for the card shape.  The patterned paper was from an old paper pad and I added two black brads at the bottom and three black gems on the image panel.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge closed on 28th May, so plenty of times to join in.  Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the fabulous cards the DT have made.

White Christmas

A White on White Christmas card, today.

I used a NBUS Crafts Too embossing folder 'Snowflake Banner'.  The snowflakes are from the Memory Box 'Twilight Snowflakes' set, raised up on foam pads to add some dimension.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Greatest Part of Christmas' set, stamped with Versacolor 'Silver'.
