Stitched Owl

I made this card for a challenge on UK Stampers Forum Facebook page.  The challenge is to include sewing related images or actual sewing +  a stamped image.

I used a Marianne Design cross-stitched tag die cut and chopped the top off to make a rectangle.  I used crochet cotton for cross-stitching. For the stamping I used a border stamp from the Stampin' Up 'A Little Lace' set.  I stamped the border twice in Memento 'Rich Cocoa' and added a little touch of deep yellow with a Promarker.  I used the same ink pad for the sentiment, which is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Anything But Square

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Lolo has chosen the theme 'Anything but Square'.  As always, there is always the Anything Goes option.  My card today is a Split Gatefold Card.

The patterned paper was from my snippets drawer.  I added some red Card Candi to match the red mats.  The sentiment is from one of Lisa Horton's box kits, stamped with Versafine 'Nocturne'. The back was left blank for the message.  The card folds flat for posting.

Prizes are from our generous sponsor, Stampendous.

Embossed Christmas Cards

Maureen is hosting the Rudolph Days Challenge this month for the last time.  Thanks to Maureen for running the monthly challenge for so long, but I'm sure we all understand the reason for her making the decision to step back from the challenge.   I've made a few quick cards which will be easy to batch make using a couple of embossing folders, some tiny pearls and gems and a stamp.

This embossing folder is Apple Blossom 'Merry Christmas'.  I trimmed the embossed card down to fit on the card blank, added some tiny white pearls and the card was finished.

I made an identical card in red.

For my last card used a preloved Cuttlebug embossing folder a bought recently in a charity shop.  As I used it for the first time, I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS challenge.  I stamped a greeting with a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Greatest Part of Christmas' set, stamped with Versafine 'Satin Red'.  A few tiny clear gems finished off my card.

Butterfly Anniversary Aperture Card

The Butterfly Challenge has a different format this year and the theme this time is an Anniversary Card, with various other elements.  From the list, I included the colours Aero Blue, African Violet, Amethyst, + an Aperture, a sentiment and butterfly.

The patterned paper and the 'Aero Blue' card came from the same paper pad from the Works.  The butterfly is from a set of three dies gifted to me recently by a friend.  I used it for the first time, so I'll be joining in the NBUS Challenge this month. I die cut two butterflies and stuck them back to back,  as the butterfly twists round when the card is opened.  It's attached to the card with invisible thread.  I used Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circles' and 'Stitched Circle Layers' die to make the aperture and the white frame.  I added a sentiment and a heart made with two punches.

As I'm joining in the Snippets Challenge, I remembered to take a photo of the snippets I used before I made the card.  No idea why the snippets have come out a complete different shade in the photo.  (The yellowy piece is actually apple green, but in the end I didn't use that piece or the patterned Aero Blue.) I also used a white snippet for the frame, but forgot to take a photo.

Allsorts Challenge ~ January Blues

It's Sarah's turn to choose the theme for the Allsorts Challenge this week and she has chosen 'January Blues'.  It's never too early to start making Christmas card, so this is one ready for next Christmas.  How will you interpret 'January Blues'?  We'd love to see the challenge flooded with blue creations, but as always there is the Anything Goes option.

The card base was made with a Spellbinders 'Happy Days' die.  I really like this fold and I've used this die several times lately.  The papers are from The Works and I die cut a few Memory Box 'Twilight Snowflakes' to put on the steps.  Three holographic Card Candi finished off my card.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Make Your Own Background

Ellie has chosen 'Make Your Own Background' for the Allsorts Challenge theme this week.  As always, there is always the Anything Goes option.

I made my background with Pixie Powders, sprayed with water.  I used a new Simon Says Stamp 'Leaf Branch Oval' in a rectangle of white card and layered it over the inky background.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Boho Indigo' set, stamped with Versafine 'Nocture'.  I added a punched flower and a few gold coloured gems.

18th Birthday

I made this card for a special young lady celebrating her 18th Birthday next week.  As she won't see my blog I'm posting it today.

The card base was made with a Spellbinders 'Happy Days' die.  I used a sheet of patterned paper from the Trimcraft 'Love Letters' paper pad and everything else was from my snippets drawers. The green squares are embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.  The flowers were made with dies from the Creative Expressions 'Daisy Blossoms' set.

After reading on Kath's blog that she is going to try and remember to take photos of the snippets she used for her Snippets cards, I thought I'd try and do the same this year.  Usually I remember after I've tossed the leftover scraps in the bin and it's too late!  The die for the circles cuts out four different sized circles, so I've saved the ones I didn't use on this card.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Mood board

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and we're back to a weekly challenge.  Lynn has chosen the theme of a ‘Mood board’, so lots of ideas to use on your creations.  As always, there is the option of  'Anything Goes'.

For my card I've chosen the colour pink and the crocuses from the Mood Board.
I've used a digi stamp from Beccy's Place.  It's the free digi stamp for this month and I've coloured it with Promarkers.  The image is layered on a Memory Box 'Stitched Oval Layers' die cut.  I stencilled the background with a Lavinia Stamps 'Feather Leaf' stencil, using Distress Ink 'Picked Raspberry'.

Prizes this month are from our generous sponsors, AALL and Create and Craft Stash.

The DT have made some wonderful creations, so please hop over to the Allsorts Challenge blog for some inspiration.
