Thank You Card

A Thank You card today, using a couple of dies I won recently over in the Playground.
A friend recently asked me if a large 2018 Cath Kidston calendar was of any use to me for recycling to make cards.  Well..... she didn't have to ask twice!  The floral paper I used here is from one of the pages in the calendar, I think it was actually the front cover.   The frame was made with a MFT 'Stitched Diagonal' Cover-up die.  I love this die and I can see that I'll be using it for lots of different occasions. I used  Impression Obsession 'Thanks' die, backing the paper with a piece of an adhesive sheet before die cutting to make it easy to attach to the card.  The flower and leaf are punched shapes.  All the plain card was snippets, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground.

Flap Fold

The Butterfly Challenge finishes today, so I got my skates on to make a card before the challenge ends.  There is an optional card shape with each challenge and this time it's a Flap Fold.  There are instructions HERE for several flap folds and I've chosen Version 2, the diagonal flap fold, as it's one I've not seen before.

The background is embossed with an Xcut 'Butterfly Pattern' embossing folder.  The butterfly is made with two Memory Box butterfly die, 'Pippi' and 'Isabella' and attached just by the body to a Spellbinders scalloped circle die cut.  The wings are raised up to add some dimension.  Three white pearls finished off my card.

This photograph shows how the card opens.

50th Charter

Unfortunately I missed a special lunch recently as we were on holiday, so I sent this CAS card to everyone attending to wish them a lovely day and a delicious lunch.

The logo is the club logo, which I downloaded from the internet.   I embossed the frame with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder to add a little texture.  The text is computer generated to personalise the card.  I kept to the blue and yellow colours of the logo for the mats.

Rudolph

The Rudolph Days Challenge started yesterday and runs until the end of the month.  At a recent craft fayre I bought a past copy of a magazine which had lots of lovely Christmas stamps, dies and an embossing folder.
I used the free cross stitch embossing folder, hoop die, sentiment and reindeer image.   The only bought die I used was a Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle'.  The image was coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black'.

Wheels

The Twofer Challenge ends tomorrow, so I'm sneaking in a last minute entry.  The theme this month is 'Wheels', using the same stamp, stencil, or die for the prompt on two different designs for two different occasions.

I am joining in the Twofer Challenge with this pair of cards.

The die I used on both cards is the Memory Box 'Vintage Bicycle' die.  On the first card I used the die with silver mirror card and layered it on a Memory Box 'Postage Square' die.  I wrapped silver thread around the corners and raised up the square on a foam sheet.  The text background paper is from Anna Marie Designs.

For my second card I made a good luck/thinking of you card.  I used the same die with snippets of yellow card, just die cutting the small wheel.  I backed the die cut wheels with a paler yellow card.  I added a couple of punched green leaves to the bottom lemon and raised it up on foam pads.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Snowdrops

I'm home after a wonderful holiday in the Norwegian fjords.  I'll share a couple of photos at the bottom of this post.

A birthday card today for a friend who has well over 60 varieties of snowdrops.  Who would have thought that there are so many different ones!
I used a Altenew cross stitch die and found a snowdrop pattern online, which I altered slightly.  I used crochet cotton for cross stitching and edged the snowdrop petals with silver thread to add a little sparkle.  I made the navy blue frame with Sue Wilson 'Double Pierced Rectangle' dies.  The sentiment is a from the Stampin' Up 'Vertical Greetings' set of stamps, stamped with Versafine 'Majestic Blue'.

Rock Climbing

The May Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today and runs until the 28th May.  The theme this month is 'Distress It'.  Our generous sponsor is Sheep Ski Designs who also kindly provided the images for the DT to make their cards.

For my DT card I chose the lovely, masculine image 'Determination', which I coloured with Promarkers.  I used grey Core'dinations card with a brick embossing folder, so I could sand it to give a distressed look.  A computer generated sentiment finished off my card.

Please pop over to the Crafty Calendar Challenge to see all the wonderful cards my teamies have made for inspiration.

There are are digital images to be won for a randomly chosen winner from Sheep Ski Designs and we will also be choosing our favourite Top 3.

Looking forward to seeing all your beautiful projects.
