Allsorts Challenge ~ Emboss - heat/dry

Dena has chosen the theme of' 'Emboss heat/dry' for this week's Allsorts Challenge.  So I hope you will get out your embossing folders or embossing powders and joining in the challenge.  There is always the optional Anything Goes.

A made a card for friends who recently celebrated their 49th Anniversary.

The image is a digi stamp from Bugaboo, unfortunately the digi stamps are no long available.  I coloured the image with Promarkers.  I used an Xcut 'Small Polka Hearts' embossing folder for the background.

Our generous sponsors this month are Prizes from Stampendous and Oakwood Direct and WOWVOW

The Allsorts DT have made some beautiful creations for the challenge, so please hop over the challenge blog for some inspiration.

Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge

This month many bloggers are remembering Janis Woolbright by joining in the Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge.  This is the only cat themed Christmas stamp I have, so I made this Tri Panel Z Card so I can join in the challenge with a card.

The image is a stamp by Little Claire Designs which unfortunately is no longer available.  The image is coloured with Promarkers and I added Glossy Accents to the bauble to make it 3D and shiny.  The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works called 'I'll be Gonk for Christmas'

Snowman's Gift

The 25th of the month is here again, so time for the penultimate 2023 Rudolph Days Challenge.  A crafty friend gave me the heads up that a fairly local charity shop had a donation of some crafty goodies, so I took a little trip there and this is one of the stamps I bought.  I inked it up for the first time, so I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS challenge.  As it was fairly quick to make, I made six of this design.

The image is an Inkylicious 'Frosty Gift' stamp, stamped with Mememto 'Tuxedo Black and coloured with Promarkers.  I die cut the image with a stitched rectangle die and layered it on a green mat.  The sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp and I added three red and silver card candy.

Congratulations

A congratulations card I made for my great nephew to tell him how proud we are for getting a special school award.

The card shape was made with a PressCut stepper die and I used navy blue and matt silver card to decorate it.   The large stars are Lisa Horton's 'Stitched Layered Stars' die cuts.  The smaller dies were punched.  The letters were die cut with Memory box 'Alphabet Soup' dies and the sentiment was typed on the computer.

The papers are from a paper pad from The Works and I added a few pink pearls.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Autumn Colours

Lynn has chosen the theme of 'Autumn Colours' for the Allsorts Challenge this week.  So it would be lovely to see your creations in shades of brown, orange, yellow or red.  As always, there is the option of Anything Goes.

For my DT card I made a birthday card in shades of brown and orange.

I started by making a background using shades of brown and orange Distress Oxides, spritzed with a little water.  I used a strip of the background behind a  Memory Box 'Ringo Tile' die cut panel.  I added some tiny brown pearls along the die cut panel. The stamped image is from the Stampin' Up 'Beauty Abounds' set, coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Clair 'Acorn'.

Coneflowers

A birthday card to share today.

I won this lovely Woodware 'Cone Flower Row' stamp over in the Stamping Sensations Challenge and as I inked it up for the first time for this card, I will be sharing my card over in the NBUS Challenge.  The image was stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment was a SU stamp from the 'Best Year' set.  I used Lisa Horton 'Scalloped Layered Rectangle' dies for matting and layering.

I am joining in the following challenges.

While I had my stamps and dies out I made two more cards in different colours.

Witch's Legs

I'm not a fan of Halloween, but I've made a card today so that I can join in with a few challenges.

The pumpkin embossing folder is an old Cuttlebug one, from memory it came as part of a set of four. The tag is a MFT 'Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics' die and the witch's legs were cross-stitched with crochet cotton.  The tag is raised up on foam pads. The sentiment is a stamp from La-La Land Crafts 'Lil' Devil Marci' set, stamped with Versafine Nocture.  Everything, apart from the card blank and the ribbon, was snippets so I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Add Some Texture

Lorraine has chosen the theme for this week's Allsorts Challenge  which is 'Add Some Texture'.  There are a lot of ways you can add texture, but you can always go with the Anything Goes option.

Two cards to share today.  The first was for friends who recently celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss.
I used a Marianne cross-stitch die in a die cut Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die cut.  I used crochet cotton for the cross-stitching and then layered it on a Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circles' die cut.  The background was embossed with a Creative Expression 'Heart Lattice' embossing folder.  I added two heart pearls for added texture.

My second card is a birthday card.
The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works and I added a strip of matching hession.  The Poppystamps 'Marina Sailboats' die cut was layered on Memory Box stitched circle and scalloped die cuts and raised up on foam pads.  I added three tiny turquoise pearls.  The sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp.

CAS

A fairly CAS card a made for a friend's recent birthday.

From memory, the embossing folder came as a cover gift with a magazine.  I added a strip of ribbon, three buttons and a dragonfly brad to the embossed card and layered it over a green card blank.  I finished off my card with a stamped sentiment.

The embossed flower stem show up much better IRL.

Paper Piecing

A floral card to share today.

I recently bought a preloved Lisa Horton 'Large Framed Modern Tulip' die and it had its first outing for this card.  I have a pack of matt silver card blanks, which I've had forever and couldn't decide what to do with them.  I used the front of one to die cut the frame.  The die was used again with snippets of pink and green card and I inlaid all the little pieces.  A few pink pearls finished off my card. I decided not to add a sentiment on the front, mainly because I wasn't sure where to put it, so the sentiment will go inside.

Crafty Calendar Challenge ~ Halloween or Autumn Colours

This is my second post today, so please scroll down to see my Allsorts Challenge DT post.

The October Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today with the theme Autumn Colours/Halloween.  Our generous sponsor this month is Sheepski Designs.

Our sponsor kindly gave the DT images to work with and I chose to use the digi stamp Trick or Treat. I coloured the gnome with Promarkers.  The patterned paper is from a My Mind's Eye 'Something Wicked' paper pad.  I die cut three pumpkins from the Impression Obsession 'Halloween Set' and added a die bat from the same set.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on the 28th of the month, so why not hop over to the challenge blog to see all the wonderful creations the DT have made.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Vintage

The theme for the Allsorts Challenge this week was chosen by Mervi and she has chosen 'Vintage'.  Interpret the theme in any way you like or you can always choose the Anything Goes option.

Penny-farthing bicycles were popular in the 1870s and 1880s, so I guess that makes them pretty vintage. 😉 I used a Memory Box 'Vintage Bicycle' die and layered the die cut on a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die cut.  The patterned paper is from Anna Marie Designs.  A few tiny black pearls finished off my card.

Prizes this month are from our generous sponsors Stamp AddictsOakwoodHighlight CraftsRuth Hamilton Dedsign, AALL and Create and Craft Stash.

Happy Birthday

It was my great niece's 15th birthday yesterday and this is the card I made for her.  I took my inspiration from the card I made HERE, but I wanted to make it into more of a scene.  Emmie loves horses and is happiest when she is down at the local stables, riding or helping with the horses.

I didn't have a horse die, so this one started life as a unicorn and I chopped the horn off.  The sentiment is a Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday' die cut.   I added part of a Die-namics 'Fresh Cut Grass' die cut for the horse to stand on.  The sky was a snippet of blue mottled patterned paper and I put the Memory Box 'Puffy Clouds' die cuts in the sky and raised one of them up on foam pads.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

Emmie asked for money for her birthday as she is saving up for a new mobile. I made her a money holder card to put the notes in.
The patterned paper was from an old Paper Cellar paper pad.  The horse is a silhouette peel off... yes, I still have some which are very ancient, but now and again they come in handy.  The sentiment is a Happy Little Stampers stamp from the 'Birthday Friends' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Tulip Red'.

When the card is open, there is a pocket to put the money in where the bottom half of the card front is attached to the back around the bottom and side.
