Wedding Card

A wedding card today, which I can now post as I know it has been received.  The wedding colour scheme was purple and white, so I used these colours on my card.  The purple card is pearlised card from Anna Marie Designs.

Lots of dies were used on this card:

The large purple octagon was attached to a 7" x 7" card blank, almost up to the fold and the card blank was trimmed to cut off the excess white card. The oval is attached with foam pads.  All the white die cuts were snippets, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground.

Peeling off the Peeloffs!

The LIM challenge this week is to use a  sticker, sticky label or peel-off.  I can't believe how many peeloffs I have, most bought years ago before I did much stamping and probably before dies were even invented!! LOL! 

I started by making a trifold aperture card using white linen cardstock.  I made the aperture using a Sue Wilson 'Double Pierces Square' die.  I had to run it through my Big Shot a few times as it was going through two thicknesses of card.  The black peeloff is a Rennie Mackintosh style image, which I attached to a piece of acetate before colouring with Sharpie pens.  I coloured on the back and the front of the image to make the colour more intense.  The sentiment is also a peeloff.  The light's not brilliant today, so it was hard to get a good photo.  The card looks better in the photo below,  although the leaves are actually bright green!

Moving Along with the Times Challenge 27 ~ Clean and Simple

While I had the sheet of peeloffs out, I used a few more to make a 'not so CAS' card.

The peeloff image is attached to white card and coloured with Promarkers. The corners and sentiment are peeloffs too.  I made an embossed background with Creative Expressions 'Art Deco Rose Swirl' embossing folder, as the pattern is similar to the image.  As this embossing folder is a NBUS (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) one I've had for a little while, I'll be popping over to Darnell's blog to share this card.   For anyone who has never heard of the NBUS challenge, it's a challenge to use something that you've never used before.  It could be something new, or something that's been gathering dust in the back of a cupboard and you've never got round to using.  There's a link on my side panel, so I hope you join in.

Christmas Bauble

I'm back from a few days away with only a weak wifi signal, so although I managed to visit quite a few blogs, it was really difficult to comment.  Hopefully I'll make up for it this week.

I was thrilled to be Showcased on the Less is More challenge with this card HERE.  

Onto today's card.  The Rudolph Days challenge started on the 25th and just runs until the end of each month, so mananged to make a few of this design while we were away.  

A fairly CAS card today, using a Poppystamp 'Vesha Ornament' die and one of the MB 'Distressed Holiday Collage' dies, with dark blue pearlised paper and silver Mirror card.

A birthday card today for a friend who loves all things sheep-related!

The digi stamp is from DigiStamp Boutique, which I coloured with Promarkers. The image was layered using MB' Stitched Rectangle' dies.  I used snippets of pink card to punch flowers, adding a few to the image to add extra dimension.

Masculine card

A very quick masculine card today for a car enthusiast.

I used the MB 'Grand Happy Birthday' die for the red background of my card.  Then I attached a MB 'Gearworks Border' silver mirror card die cut at the bottom and finally added a car silhouette peeloff.  Five minutes later my card was finished......... and I've used another peeloff from my 'peeloff mountain'!

I decided to make a background today using the MB 'Lucienne Tile' die.  I use this die often as a border, but this time I used it four times to create an all-over pattern.  Other MB dies I've used are 'Stitched Circles, Rectangles a Scalloped Circle' and 'Pippi Butterfly'.  The butterfly is attached by the middle so that the wings can stand up. The scalloped circle is raised up on foam pads.  To finish off my card, I added some tiny white pearls.

Blue and White

I recently discovered a new challenge, Win and Tonic, so I thought I'd get out my Tonic dies and make a card today.   Usually when I make blue and white cards they are birthday cards for football fans, but this time it's a thank you card.

The Tonic die I chose to use is 'Branwen Briar' die.  The background is blue and white mottled card, which I've embossed with a SB 'Dainty Dots' embossing folder.  The 'Thank You' ribbon is joined behind the layered image, so I could get the words just where I wanted them and the image is raised up on foam tape.  I added three white pearls to the top of the card and because the bottom of the layered image looked a bit bare, I coloured three tiny white pearls with a blue Promaker, so they matched the blue card I've used.

Paper and Punches

The Butterfly Challenge this fortnight is 'Butterflies + V is for Vases and/or Vanilla'.  My first job was to something vanilla coloured.  When does cream or ivory become vanilla? I looked at the my vanilla Promarker and it's not really cream or ivory.  I looked through my patterned paper pads and remembered how Di, over in the Playground, used a sheet of patterned paper on her card HERE,  you know the sheet that always seems to get left because it hasn't got an 'all-over' pattern.  Well, I found one of these sheets which was  predominantly vanilla and just had a printed arch of flowers.  This formed my background.

 The vase and flowers were punched out of snippets of coordinating paper from the same Dovecraft paper pad and I fussy cut the orange flower from a spare sheet of matching paper.  A couple of the flowers were raised up on foam pads. I added a few punched flowers to the ends of the printed flower arch and a little butterfly by the sentiment.  So, no dies or stamping today, just paper and punches.

On the Beach

Welcome to my new follower, Gerrina of Gerrina's Creatieve Wereld.  Thank you for following me, I hope you visit again soon.

The theme of The Craft Barn Challenge this fortnight is a beach scene, which must contain a beach hut.  The closing date is in a few hours, so this card jumped up to the top of my 'cards to make' list.

I made the background scene using a Lil' inker Designs 'Cloudy Sky' die with blue card.   The die leaves cloud shaped apertures, so I put a piece of  white card behind. The sand is gold glitter card, which really sparkles IRL.  The beach hut is a Joanna Sheen 'Signature' die, which cuts and embosses and the little door opens. I backed the beach hut with a small piece of silver pearlised paper so you don't see the sky when you open the door!   I didn't have a sun die, that's still on my wish list, so I used a small flower punch and added a small circle on the top.  The sea is a MB 'Oceana Border' die cut and I used MB 'Stitched Squares and Rectangles' for matting and layering.   Everything apart from the base card was snippets, so I'll be off to play in The Playground.

Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge # 132 ~ By The Seaside

Je t'adore

A second post today .   The Less is More challenge this week is One Layer with the theme of 'French'.   I have some French themed papers somewhere, but they would be no good for a one layer card.  Looking through my stamps for inspiration, I came across this lovely stamp which I thought would fit the theme.

  The stamp is by Bee Crafty, 'Fleur and Freddie', which I stamped with a Memento ink pad and coloured with Promarkers.  I added a touch of sparkle on the hearts with a red Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.  The sentiment is computer generated, the font is actually called French Script!   It's my wedding anniversary next month, so I'll probably use this for hubby's anniversary card.

30th Birthday Card

A CAS 30th birthday card today.  

For the corner, I used one of the dies from the MB 'Distressed Windham Collage' set.  The butterfly was made with two Poppystamp dies, 'Elsa' and 'Lyndon'.  As I wanted the butterfly to have a die cut body, I used the body from the MB 'Pippi Butterfly'.  The butterfly is attached to the card base just in the middle, with foam pads under the wings to make them stand up.  I added tiny white pearls to show the flight path.  The sentiment banner is hand cut and raised up on foam pads.

Zesty Zing

The 'That's Crafty' challenge theme is 'Zesty Zing'.  Now orange is a colour I very rarely use on my cards, but I guess it fits into the theme with the zesty colours of lemon and lime, so this took me a bit out of my comfort zone.  I had an idea in my head for a design....but this wasn't it....apart from the stamp.  My card sort of evolved as I went along.

The stamp is an old wood mounted Stampendous stamp, 'Glasgow Rose Garden'.  I stamped it in the top corner of the card blank and coloured it with Promarkers.  I used a MB 'Grand Happy Birthday' die and attached the die cut over the bottom of the card.  I decided it looked too plain to leave it as it was, so I added a Poppystamp 'Small Flower Box' die cut, attached with foam pads to give a little dimension.  I didn't have any small green pearls, so I coloured three white ones with the Promarker I used for the leaves.  So that is my card, which looks nothing like I intended!

Carousel

Welcome to my new follower, Sue Tossell.  I can't seem to find a link to your blog Sue, so if you can leave me a comment, I'll add a link in my next post.

When I saw the CASology challenge was 'Dizzy', I couldn't think of anything in my stash that would fit the bill.  Then I remembered a freebie carousel digistamp I downloaded from Becky's Place last month.  Carousels go round and round and can make you dizzy, can't they?  As we finally replaced our colour printer yesterday (whoo hoo!) things are actually printing out in the correct colours.  So, here is the card I made using this lovely image.

I used the pre-coloured image to save time, as I really should be tidying my craft room!  I bought the patterned card from a craft show recently, but I'm not sure of the make.  The image was resized to fit the MB 'Stitched Rectangle' die.  I chose this size die because I wanted to use the patterned card to create a frame of hearts.  The framed image is raised up on foam tape.  The embossing folder I used is SB 'Dainty Dots'.   Three Card Candi finished off my card.

Musical Happy Birthday

Today's CAS birthday card has a musical theme.

Both the images are old wood mounted stamps by Butterfly Kisses.  I stamped the image with a black Memento inkpad and coloured it with Promarkers.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx.  The image and sentiment are die cut with a Sue Wilson 'Pierced Square' die and layered on a piece of sunflower yellow card,  leaving a very thin border.

Baby Boy!

A friend was made a grandmother recently and this is the card I made for her.

The image is a MB 'Baby Carriage' die cut, layered on a MB 'Stitched Circle'.  The banners were punched with a Stampin' Up punch and for the letters I used MB 'Alphabet Soup' dies.  The embossing was done with one of my favourite embossing folders, SB ' Dainty Dots.

Stampin' Up Fox

The Less is More Challenge this week is a colour challenge, using blue and brown.  I recently spent a lovely morning with a crafty friend who has the new Stampin' Up 'Fox Builder Punch'. Well, who was I to refuse the chance to have a play with her new toy!   I came home with a bag of punched out shapes, ready to make a whole family of foxes.

I used two Memory Box 'Stitched Circle' dies  to make the white frame and cut a circle of gingham paper to put behind.  The panel across the centre was die cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Country Border' die, with a strip of the gingham paper along the middle.  The tiny spots are the waste from a Memory Box die cut. The framed image is attached with foam tape.

Technology

A masculine card is needed this week for someone who is an IT teacher, so a technology theme seemed appropriate.

The iPhone is an idea I got from my blogging friend, Shabneez, HERE.  The iPhone was made from lots of snippets, with a peeloff sentiment and is raised up on foam tape.  I used two different patterned papers from Anna Marie Designs for the background. The corners were die cut using an old Sizzlit die.

Butterfly Tag

A second post today so I can join in the current Less is More Challenge, which closes in a few hours.  The theme is 'Use Something Tactile'.  I bought a roll of deep pink jute in a pound shop several years ago and never used it.  I thought it would be perfect for my card to add something tactile.  It looks more red in the photo, but is a lovely shade of pink IRL, an almost perfect match with the pink around the sentiment. 

The frame was made using two Poppystamps 'Stitched Main Street Tag Dies', which I attached over the jute with foam tape and added white organza ribbon to the top.  The Stampin' Up punched butterfly is embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder with three tiny pink pearls added for the body.  The background is embossed with a Creative Expressions 'Dotty Daisy' embossing folder.

Christmas in August

Welcome to Sonia from Sonia-Jane Creations, thank you for following me.  Welcome to my two other new followers too.  I'm not sure who you are, as your pictures aren't appearing in my followers list, so please leave me a comment and I will put a link back to your blog.  

I'm back after a break of just over a week in Devon.  It seemed a good idea at the time to take advantage of the usually warm and sunny weather in the UK and head for the coast.  We hadn't anticipated days of non-stop rain to come, but every cloud has a silver lining......I started batch making some cards and I managed to make 54 Christmas cards during the week.  I'm now well ahead of schedule with my Christmas cards.  We even managed to get in a few walks during the week too!

The first two cards are a similar CAS design, using a new DoCrafts 'Noel' die I bought this week in a sale at a local craft shop in Devon.  I had lots of snippets of gold and silver mirror card, a perfect size for the die.  I made the first batch of cards in red, gold and white.....

..... and the second batch in blue, silver and white.

The embossing folders are both by Crafters Companion - another bargain buy some time ago for £1 each.

For my last design I used a Memory Box 'Leaping Deer' die layered on a SB Lacy Square die cut.  The embossing doesn't show up very well in the photo, but I used the same folder as the photo above.
