Christmas Card

The January Rudolph Days began yesterday and runs until the end of the month.  My card is a CAS card which I think I might batch make using different colours.

I used a Memory Box 'Dazzling Snowflake' die in a snippet of purple card and layered it on a slightly larger snippet of white card.  The layered snowflake is raised up in foam tape and a clear gem put in the middle of the snowflake.  The Woodware sentiment was stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black'.

The As You Like It Challenge asks for my favourite colour and why.  I've always loved purple as it's such a rich and vibrant colour and I chose it for my bridesmaids' dresses many years ago.

Elephants

A Double Z Fold birthday card for a friend who loves elephants and celebrated her birthday this month.  She also makes amazing stained glass pictures and this image reminded me of stained glass.

The image is a Woodware stamp 'Baby Patch Elephant', stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with yellow and grey Promarkers.  The papers are from a Dovecraft paper pad, using three different papers.  I added three silver sequins.

70th Birthday

A masculine card for a friend who will be celebrating his big birthday this week.

I started by cutting the 'BIRTHDAY' in the 6" x 6" card blank using a Gemini 'Wishing You A Happy Birthday' die. The patterned paper is from the same paper pad I used in yesterday's post,  Dovecraft 'Blue Skies'.   The yacht is a die from the Memory Box 'Marina Sailboats' set, layered on Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die cuts. I put a navy square of card inside with a white panel on top for the message.

Football Fan

A card today for a football fan in the team colours of blue and white.

The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft paper pad, 'Blue Skies'.  I die cut the Happy Birthday onto a snippet of white card and fussy cut the circle by hand, following the curve of the die cut.  The sentiment die cut is raised up on foam pads.  The footballs are peeloffs, attached to snippets of white card and fussy cut.

Four Panel Card

The Butterfly Challenge this time is 'F for Four Panel Card'.  Mrs A has put the instructions for this fold HERE.  I altered the measurements slightly to make a 6" x 4" card with the panels all the same width.  The additional elements are Four Panel card/Flowers/Forest Green/French Rose/ Flax/Fuchsia/Butterfly and I've included all the elements on my card.

This is the card when it's closed flat for posting.  The butterfly was made with an old Spellbinders butterfly die using fuchsia and flax coloured card.  The SU sentiment was stamped with Versafine 'Rain Forest'.

I found some patterned paper with Forest Green, French Rose, Fuschia flowers with a Flax coloured background.  All the patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works.  I made a flowers in three of the colours, using a Poppystamps 'Sweet Pea Stem' die to put on one of the inside panels.  I also punched a flax coloured butterfly, which you can just see to the left of the sweet pea.  I added a plain panel for the message.

Thanks

Di is celebrating her 11th Blogoversary of running Snippet Playground Challenge this week.  Thanks to Di for the last 11 years and to Sarn who has teamed up with Di to continue running the challenge.

So here is my snippets card, together with the required photo of the snippets used.  Most 'Thank You' cards I make are more suitable for a female, so I decided to make a card which would also be suitable for a man.  I rarely use black card blanks, but it seemed to work quite well with the bright colours.

I bought a preloved Memory Box 'Cascadia Background Strip' die a while ago and this is its first outing.  Actually, I'm not sure it was preloved, as I don't think it was ever used by the previous owner. 😉  I used the die in the front of the black card blank and put a piece of a double sided adhesive sheet behind the apertures.  Next step was to use the same die again using snippets of red, blue, yellow and green and inlay all the coloured little pieces into the apertures. I used big enough snippets so that I can use the leftover pieces with the aperture in future projects. The IO 'Thanks' sentiment was die cut from a white snippet.  The stars were punched and I added strips of blue and white across the top as it looked a bit bare.

Here are all the snippets I used.  The only other thing I used was the black card blank.

Twiggy

I'm a week late with my DT card for the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month.  I had to wait until my laptop was repaired to be able to print the digi stamp, but better later than never!  Our generous sponsor this month is SheepSki Designs.

Our sponsor kindly gave us digi stamps to work with and I chose 'Twiggy'.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and added three punched leaves raised up on foam pads to add some dimension.  I made an easel card with a 6" x 6" card blank and used patterned paper from an old paper pad.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge has the theme of 'Add a Sentiment' this month and ends of 28th January, so plenty of time to join in the challenge.  The DT have made beautiful cards for inspiration, so please visit the challenge blog and have a look.

Cluck Cluck

My computer crashed over three weeks ago and I finally got it back today.  Fortunately the repairers were able to save everything on my computer before fitting a new hard drive.   Note to self.... regularly back up my computer as I could have lost everything, including all the photos of my cards!

Today's card is a birthday card for a friend who celebrated her birthday earlier this month.  As she keeps chickens, I decided to make a little cross-stitched chicken picture for the front of the card.

The background was embossed with a Crafts-Too 'Feathers' embossing folder.  I added a strip of ribbon with little chicks on across the middle.  The matted cross-stitched image is raised up on foam pads.
