Retirement

A friend recently retired and this is the card I made for her.

The image is a Digistamp Boutique digi stamp, coloured with Promarkers.  The image and small mat were die cut with Memory Box ‘Stitched Square Layers’ dies. The patterned paper is from a Trimcraft ‘Love Letters’ paper pad and I added three sequins.

Peace on Earth

The Rudolph Days Challenge begins today and runs until the end of the month.

The dove die cut and the sentiment stamp were magazine cover gifts with a magazine I received as a RAK recently. The top wing on the dove it raised up on foam pads to add dimension. The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works.  The sentiment is stamped in navy and punched out with a circle punch.  The other circles are Sue Wilson 'Double Pierced Circles' die cuts.  The background was embossed with a Creative Expressions 'Snowflake Lattice' embossing folder, layered on a navy mat.

Cycle Ride

Sharing a proud Mum moment.  Just under two years ago, our daughter Joanna underwent emergency open heart surgery to remove a tumour growing inside her heart.  Joanna would be the first to admit that she isn't the most athletic person, but this year she signed up for the British Heart Foundation charity fundraising bike ride, cycling 54 miles from London to Brighton.  She wanted to give back to the charity who were so supportive to her when she needed it.  Last Sunday she completed the course, which was a fantastic achievement.

This is the card I made for Joanna to wish her good luck.
I used a Memory Box 'Vintage Bicycle' die with silver mirror card.  The circle is a die from the MFT 'Stitched Circle Scalloped Frame' set.  I hand cut a lighter green circle slightly smaller than the frame.  The background was embossed with a Creative Expressions 'Cogs and Gears' embossing folder.

I made a congratulations card for Joanna before the race, as I knew however hard she found the route, she would complete the 54 miles.
The bike is a stamp from the Rare Earth 'Bountiful Blooms' set I won a little while ago in Allsorts Challenge and it was inked for the first time for this card.  I added a little blue colouring to the bike with a Polychromos colouring pencil, the colour of Joanna's bike.  The patterned paper was from The Works and I added a strip of Congratulations ribbon across the middle of the card.  The holographic silver Card Candi finished off my card.

Afternoon Tea

What a hot day it was today and tomorrow is going to be even hotter!

On Tuesday I was invited, with a few friends, to an Afternoon Tea by a wonderful 86 year old friend.  She had baked so much delicious food, I didn't need to eat for the rest of the day! I was thinking of a design for a Thank You card, when a prize of two stamp sets arrived which I had recently won in the Snippets Playground.  It was absolutely perfect.

The image is a stamp from a Crafter's Companion 'You're So Sweet' set and coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is from the Crafter's Companion 'My Cup of Tea'. I used Lisa Horton's 'Scalloped Layered Rectangle' dies for the layers.  Three sequins finished off my card.

A second card which is a great idea for a masculine money/gift card holder.  I watched Gail Mands video HERE and the instructions are very easy to follow.

Circles

A card today using an idea for using snippets which I saw on the 'Creative Minds Kind Hearts' Facebook group page.   The original card used squares and square frames.  I thought I'd use circles, a stamped sentiment and a few flowers and pearls on my card to put my own twist on the design.

I had quite a few snippets of patterned paper, all from the same paper pad from The Range.  I used several different sized circle punches and made a few punched flowers too from the snippets. I stamped the image first using a stamp I bought in Hobbycraft ages ago and never used.  It was a bargain buy, which from memory cost 50p or a £1.  I randomly placed the circles around the sentiment and attached a few flowers with pearl centres.  The turquoise mat was a larger snippet of patterned paper.

Queen's Platinum Jubilee

My hubby and I are home from a lovely week in the Shropshire countryside with five other couples.  We first started having an annual holiday together in 1990 and this holiday was postponed from 2020 and then again in 2021.   We were there for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend and we decorated our accommodation (a self-catering barn conversion) with lots of bunting and flags.  I made this card just before we went, but ran out of time to post a photo on my blog.

The background was embossed with a Lisa Horton's 'Padded Quilt' embossing folder.  I used a Marianne Designs cross-stitch die and cut into a circle with a Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die.  The purple mat is a Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circle' die cut.  I found a few crown cross-stitch patterns online and I designed this one using several difference examples.  The cross-stitching was done with crochet cotton.  I typed the words on the computer, printed it in  grey and added two clear gems for some sparkle.

Get Well Soon

It's the first Saturday of the month and time for the June Crafty Calendar Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes.  Our generous sponsor this month is All Dressed Up.

Our sponsor kindly gave the DT digi images to work with and I chose 'Floral Wellies'.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and layered it on a pink mat.  The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works, called 'Let It Be Flowers'.  Three little punched flowers finished off my card.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th June.  I hope you have time to pop over the challenge blog where you can see the beautiful cards the DT have made for inspiration.
