Donna has chosen the theme for this fortnight's Allsorts Challenge and theme is 'Create Your Own Background'. As always, there is also Anything Goes option.
I was lucky enough to win this Visible Image 'Frosty' stencil in The Playground recently, so I gave it its first outing using Distress Oxide ink pads. The sentiment is a Impression Obsession 'Thanks' die. The orange and green card was all from my snippets drawer.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
The stencil I used was a 6 x 6 one, so I made a second card using the strip of stencilled card left over. There was enough orange and green card left too.
The flower is a Memory Box 'Prim Poppy' die cut, using one of my favourite flower dies. I cut the flower out in green first and then just the flower heads in orange and layered them on top of the green.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
As You Like It Challenge ~ Favourite Die and why (I've had this die for over ten years and I love the simplicity of the design. It's perfect for so many occasions.)
The Allsorts prize this time is a set of four background stamps from AALL and Create.

A great way to use the stencil which you won recently and excellent colour choices too. Love your background and that flower die is a favourite of mine too
ReplyDeleteBOTH cards are absolutely fabulous Liz. Great to see you using your prize - and getting a twofer out of your stencilling. The Prim Poppy die is lovely and sits perfectly alongside the stencilled strip. xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Liz, with beautiful stencilling.

The frosty stencil looks amazing in these colors, and the soft blending gives the background such a smooth, wintry glow. The twofer is a brilliant use of the leftover strip, and the poppy die adds a clean, elegant contrast. Both designs feel fresh and beautifully balanced, with the snippets used so thoughtfully.
ReplyDeleteLove your stencilled background and choice of colours Liz.
ReplyDeleteLove your choice of colours and great use of the stencil with two totally different looks.

Oh Liz, these are both just AWESOME! Fabulous choice of colors and if I had to choose a favorite, I love the design on card #2. Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Stencil Fun & Triple B challenges! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Both of these are beautiful Liz- love your stencilled background, the contrasting colours blend amazingly well together. Great use of the remaining strip to create the second card - love that poppy die, haven't used mine for ages so thanks for the reminder.

Two brilliant though very different cards, Liz. I love that stencil - I find it very versatile and have used it to represent frost or even fireworks! That is also a favourite flower die of mine - so elegant! Xx
ReplyDeleteStunning card and background Liz and two for one is always good!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so beautifully done, how great that you were able to make two cards from the same background!
ReplyDeleteGreat colors Liz!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are great and I think I have that poppy die cut somewhere!
A wonderful background and I like both ways you used it.
ReplyDeleteGreat, you were able to make a two-fer. The green and orange look good together and that really does look like frost on a window.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't like a twofer! Both cards are so striking Liz! x
ReplyDeleteI just love the colors! Enjoy the Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this citrussy colour combo Liz and well done on using the whole of the stencilled panel. Always lovely to see you at AYLI too with your lovely poppy die xx
ReplyDeleteTwo very pretty cards! Throw in some yellow, and the colors remind me of my bedroom in the early 70s. :-)
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so pretty with those fab colours Liz.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous green and orange stencilled background Liz and perfect with the coordinating matted green and orange card, and two great looks using the 'Thanks' die cut in white and placed on an orange mat and then the orange and green MB Poppies. x
