Sunflower

On a recent day out with my crafty friend, Ruth, I bought this Prima Circle Lattice stencil.  Having discovered that they are not as scary to use as I thought, I used the stencil with an Adirondack 'Meadow' ink pad to make the background.

The sunflower is a Cheery Lynn die.  I made the yellow frame using Nestability dies and attached it with foam pads to make it stand out. As my blog name suggests, Sunflowers are my favourite flowers!

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:

  4. A perfect sunflower card Liz! I'm also with Sarah - just beginning to play with stencils and loving it.

In Southern Germany they have massive fields of sunflowers where you can just go and pick your own. They are so huge that really a single one makes a lovely statement on its own. Plus, they have an honesty box at the field gate. Can you imagine that over here - the sunflowers, honesty box and possibly even the gate would disappear in some areas! :)

Sigh, must be getting cynical in my old age :(

    Hugs, Di xx

    1. We've driven through Germany several times and seen the fields of sunflowers. I had no idea that you are allowed to pick them. You're right about an honesty box in the UK. Probably wouldn't stay there long! LOL!

  5. Di again Liz - laughing at you and Mo on the swings, that's the spirit!

And if you find you're running out of snippets, I bet the girls will happily send you a shed load!

    1. Me? Run out of snippets? I could live until I'm 150 and I still wouldn't run out of snippets! Despite giving boxes of snippets to three Reception classes in local schools for their art areas, I still have a mountain left. :-)

PS I had a lovely time on the swings! ;-)

  9. Saw you mentioned on Darnell's blog and had to come visit, since sunflowers are my favorite flower, too. I think it is magic how they grow so large in one season from a seed. I have grown dozens of different kinds of sunflowers for selling at Farmer's Market, but now I just let my favorite variety, Autumn Beauty, reseed themselves. I love the natural color variations that are in their gene pool and their branching habit....and the birds go crazy over the seed. Love that!!

Your card is so sweet. Love the cheery sunshiny yellow!!! I'm glad to be a new follower of yours!!! If you put a "Follow by Email" box widget up, I'll subscribe that way, too!
