It's a Girl!

They say that when you're waiting for a bus for a long time, suddenly three come along at once.  Well I feel a bit like that today.  I've had no time to make any cards during the week..... and I've made three posts today!

My daughter's friend had a baby girl this morning, so this is the card I made for the happy parents.  A friend made a  name banner yesterday for a birthday card she was making, so it gave me the idea to add the name on my card like this.

The pram stamp is a Woodware one, coloured in with Promarkers.  Although I've had a Stampin' Up banner punch for a while, this is the first time I've used it.  I know the alphabet stamps were unused, as when I was looking for some suitable stamps, I came across these in a box which was still sealed in plastic.  I've no idea how long I've had them, but it's a long time!  I really like the font, so I'm sure I'll be using them again soon. I found it easiest to stamp the letters first and then turn the punch upside down to punch out the shapes.  That way I could make sure the letters were in the middle.

  9. SO much cuteness in one card, Liz! The stamp comes in the patterns, so the pram looks like it was paper-pieced, but it's not? Now that's a fun idea and saves a ton of work! And the banner across and over the top of the sweet embossing is pure perfection with the pram! I agree with you that the font was made to be used with that flag banner punch. I can't believe you haven't used those awesome letters before! (She says, haughtily, as if she doesn't have three sets of unopened alpha stamps!) I think personalizing a card with a name always touches the heart of the recipient ... or, in this case, the parents, but I think Amelia will adore it when she comes across it in the keepsake box her parents will put it in!

Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #3 again! I really appreciate the support! I hope you have a great day!! Hugs, Darnell

  11. It's simply adorable. I had to re-read the post, as I first thought you had done some paper piecing on the carriage, but then read you had used pro-markers. Fabulous coloring technique. Love the way you've added the sweet banner to personalize this very special card. I am certain it will go in this little angel's baby book as a lovely memory of her birth. TFS & Hugs

  13. Hi Liz, well, your wonderful colouring of the pram sure fooled me - I was convinced you'd paper-pieced it until I read your post again! That will teach me to pay more attention. Elizabeth xx
