I had a lovely day out yesterday with my crafty friend, Ruth, at the Malvern craft show. We managed to fit in a couple of workshop while we were there. I can't believe I resisted buying any new dies and stamps, despite there being lots to tempt me, but I still managed to come home with quite a few bits and pieces.
A thank you card today for friends who invited us round for dinner recently. A fairly quick card to make, using up some of my black peel offs. Am I the only one who still has a huge box full??
The embossing was done with a Creative Expressions 'Dotty Daisy' e/f. The embossed panel is plain white, although the shadows cast makes some of the dots look grey. The image and sentiment are both peeloffs, matted and layered using stitched rectangle dies.

Love your monochrome card Liz. You can join in our challenge with this card since our theme this month is Thank You. We are at the Addicted to stamps challenge blog you are most welcome there to join in. Hugs Veerle
ReplyDeleteHi Veerle. Unfortunately I didn't use any stamping on this card, so I can't enter it into the challenge. xx
DeleteA lovely card Liz - I really like the embossing folder. And no, you're not the only one with loads of peel-offs!

ReplyDeleteWell done using up some peeloffs Liz and your card looks very elegant. Glad you both enjoyed your day out together yesterday. I enjoyed a workshop today with five friends and ate far too much cake! Barbxx

Really lovely card, great EF and a perfect peel off for your friends. Thank you for joining our 'Black and White only' challenge this week at Allsorts.
ReplyDeleteI have an EF very similar but it is called Daisy Trail and instead of the leaves it has dotty lines, I also have those Little Claire wine peel offs, I wouldn't quite say I had a huge box full but still have quite a few and they do come in handy on occasions.

I've just googled the Daisy Trail e/f. I haven't come across that one before, but it's really pretty. xx
DeleteI love the embossed background, great looking design x
ReplyDeleteWow, so stylish!! Great work with your peeloffs and love that embossing!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful card! It's perfect for our challenge at Cards in Envy.
ReplyDeleteI have a folder full of peel offs still and they are useful occasionally, though I seem to use the words more than some of the images, but I think that they are beginning to come back into fashion again as I have definitely seen more of them being used again, that being said I think these are quite unusual and much more up to date looking than any of those that I have. x
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Liz, that peel off image looks great. Love the black and white.
ReplyDeleteI got rid of all my peel offs on EBay when I had a massive sort out, kind of wish I didn't now I have seen your wonderful card Lol
Hugs Kaz xx
Great card and love the black and white effect, rather classy.💖 [Aussie aNNie's Blog]
ReplyDeleteSuch a striking creation and perfect for our 'Black and White' theme at Allsorts this week, many thanks for joining in. Sounds like a good day at the show Liz.

I still have lots of peel offs too, mine are organised into albums - when they were first popular you could get albums of transparent pockets with each one divided up the middle to make it perfect for storing peel offs, and all mine are stored in those. I still use the borders and corners a lot and really must get around to using up some of the others - used the way you have done on this gorgeous card they do the same job as the more modern intricate die cuts do.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful, elegant and great card, Liz. Have a great day, my friend.
ReplyDeleteLove this monochromatic make. Such a clean look! I still have lots of peel-offs. I should get them out and use them - thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful the contrast between the CAS panal with the bottles and the elegant flowers on the background! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous and elegant looking. I love the black and white design and those peel offs are fantastic. I don't think I ever had any myself.
ReplyDeleteThis is a SUPERRR card love the monochrome and the black peeloff, they don't have much respect, but I think they certainly give a GREAT effect. Good to see peel offs being used beautifully. Beautiful embossing. I wasn't sure if the hour and half ride to the show would have been worth it. Sounds like it was.

We had an hour and a quarter ride to get there. Almost all papercraft stands, which was good as some of the other fairly local craft shows seem to be many fabric and wool stands these days . Had a really good day out and as I won free tickets to get in we had extra money to spend on stash. 😉 xx
DeleteFabulous card! I love those wonderful looking bottles! Thanks for sharing with us at Cards in Envy.
ReplyDeleteLovely card. Great Embossing! Thanks for playing along with me this month. Lisa Monochrome Magic
ReplyDeleteLove your use of peel offs there Liz - you've given them a modern twist in the way you've used them. Well done! Shabneez x
