I made this CAS card recently for a card swap and can post it on my blog now I know it's been received. When I discovered the recipient lives in Scotland, I decided to make a card with a Scottish flavour.
The thistle (the national floral emblem of Scotland) is a Woodware stamp. It's stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment stamp is from the Happy Little Stampers 'Whimsical Friends' set of stamps. I layered the image on a green mat, leaving just a thin border. To keep the Scottish theme, I used an Xcut tartan embossing folder for the background.
I am joining in the following challenges:
What a lovely card this is Liz. I really like the colours and what a useful stamp. Barbxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and fun card Liz! I love the purples you used, the thistle stamp is so cool looking-is this how they look in Scotland? Ours look different, but the same. I know that doesn't make sense, but they are close. The head just looks different I think. I am loving that beautiful embossing folder too! Well done! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI used a bit of artistic license colouring the thistles, Brenda. 😊 The part I've coloured purple should really be green and just the fluffy bit at the top purple, but I wanted to make the thistles appear more purple. xx
DeleteIt looks beautiful! Love the purple (one of my favorite colours...)! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card Liz, the embossing folder looks fab in purple too.
