A card today which I made for a recent card swap.
The patterned paper is from an old Papermania paper pad. The two white panels across the top are embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder. I made a 'Spirelli' die cut with a Spellbinders die and wound silver metallic thread round. This was layered with foam tape on a Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die cut and a 'Stitched Square Layers' die cut. The butterfly was made with two dies, Poppystamps 'Elsa Butterfly' and 'Lyndon Butterfly'. There is no body with these particular dies, so I used the body from the Memory Box 'Pippi Butterfly' die. The butterfly is attached just by the body, leaving the wings free.
The card folds flat for posting and measures 6" x 4".

I've not heard of a bench card before Liz, but I love this one that you've made.

You are so good with these folded cards Liz! Great card. x
ReplyDeleteThis looks so cute. I love that it folds flat, too. Lovely papers. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteLove this fold? Great that it folds flat for mailing too. Great idea to add the silver twine to the front die. Super monochromatic card.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is so pretty. Great folds and the paper is awesome. That is a gorgeous blend of purple and lavender. The silver thread on the Spirelli looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh so very pretty!! Thanks for joining us this February at Die Cut Divas.

My goodness Liz, your shaped cards become more and more complex and this looks great and folds flat too. I love the purple papers and the spirelli is so pretty and not seen so much now which is a shame as it makes a bold and beautiful centrepiece on a card, and looks fabulous complemented by the wonderful butterfly here. x
ReplyDeleteA lovely card Liz - this looks a very complicated fold.
ReplyDeleteKath x
It's a really easy fold. Just two rectangles scored in the right place and stuck together. xx
DeleteGoodness, spirelli - that takes me back! Clever card
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Liz. I like the fold - you should share it with Beccy as I don't think she has this one in her tutorials. I know what you mean with the body - it is good when there are both parts so you can have the wings floating free. I like your Spirelli too.
ReplyDeleteI've made a second card with this fold with one of Beccy’s images. Hoping to add it to my blog in the next few days so I’ll link it to her challenge. xx

I don't think I've ever seen a bench card before or even knew what one was Liz, but this is a fabulous and unique card! I love your color combo, seems purple has been really popular lately on cards. That "spirelli" looks so pretty with the silver thread. I love your butterfly too, how cool that you used two different dies to make it. How cool that this folds flat for mailing too. Love it! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWow, this is just gorgeous!!! Such wonderful mix of papers and folding! The spirelli diecut looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteLove that colour and it loks so fresh and good like this! Hugs, Gerrina
