A card made for a friend who celebrated her birthday recently.
I used a rectangle of navy blue card, just a slightly smaller than the card base. I cut snippets of patterned paper into strips of random widths and layered them onto a the navy rectangle in a pattern leaving a small gap between each strip. The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin Up 'Humming Along', stamped with SU 'Night of Navy'. The sentiment was layered on a navy mat and attached to the card with foam pads to add some dimension. This was the second card I made using this technique and I've just realised that I didn't ever post the first one on my blog, so I'll add it below.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
The sentiment is from the same set of stamps I used on my first card.

Wow Liz this is really intricate and very effective - must have taken a lot of patience to line it all up. Superb result though xx
ReplyDeleteThis is a great example of how to use up some patterned paper snippets. Lovely cards Liz. Congrats on your win too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse shortly. xxx
They are both awesome, and a great way to use up some snippets! I have some strips that came from the edges of patterned paper that I have, ready to be used up.
ReplyDeleteA brilliant way to use left over paper snippets Liz,especially for masculine cards
ReplyDeleteGreat use of snippets Liz and so very effective with the chevron design.

A great way of using up odd strips of patterned paper which, of course, we can't bear to throw out. Beautifully lined up as well. Hope you enjoy your prize from the Snippets challenge - congratulations.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great way to use the snippets. Great work Liz.

What a great way to use those stripes up! Great card! Hugs. Gerrina
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty. Both cards are amazing. I can see you as a quilter too. You are so good with shapes and color combinations.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t done any quilting for a long time. Perhaps I’ll get back to it one day. xx
DeleteI would love to see your quilts. I would love to quilt but I would have as much fabric as I do with pattern paper, so I would have to move to a bigger house!
DeleteWonderful! I love Scrappy-Strips-Cards so much...

Brilliant use of snippets and such an effective design.
ReplyDeleteYou've truly elevated snippet crafting into a stunning showcase—those patterned paper strips against the navy backdrop create such a bold and elegant design. The precision in spacing gives the card a polished quilt-like texture, and the layered sentiment adds just the right dimension. A perfect blend of artistry and resourcefulness!
ReplyDeleteVery effective use of snippets!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards!
Both of them!
What a stunning snippets card this is Liz! I still have the pretty pink and green one btw - what a lot of work.
