I watched a video this week on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page demonstrating this design. It's a perfect design for using snippets. My card is a similar layout as the card in the video, but I made a few changes by adding ribbon and the positioning of the sentiment.
The papers are from The Range and I die cut lots of snippers into squares with a Memory Box 'Perfect Patch Strip', which cuts five stitched squares in one go. I bought the die years ago because it was in a sale, but only used it today for the first time, so I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS challenge. The embossing was done with a Lisa Horton 'Layered Petals' embossing folder.
I made a second card with patterned papers, also from The Range. I chose non-floral papers as I though I could use it for a masculine card. I used a Lisa Horton 'Cubes' embossing folder on this card.
As I'll be sharing my card over in the Snippets Playground, I remembered to take a photo of my snippets leftovers.

What a clever die, part of the problem with making this type of card is all the die cutting, but 5 at once sounds just the job. I love the effect. 5 years to first use, that's impressive, but at least it has been used now and maybe it will become one of your favourite dies. You never know xx
ReplyDeleteThese look amazing Liz- a lovely design and such pretty snippets!

ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse shortly. xxx
What a perfect way to ise snippets! Both are beautiul combined! Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe mix of stitched squares, embossed texture, and coordinated snippets makes this layout shine. The pink version feels especially cohesive with the soft patterns and layered petals, while the blue card has a clean, modern look that works so well for a masculine design. Using that five‑square die really streamlines the process, and it shows in how balanced both grids look. A great reminder of how effective snippets can be when the textures and colors are thoughtfully paired.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful design using snippets. Your die certainly paid off finally as that will be the only drawback to making this design, running the same die through several times.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant way to use those scraps Liz and the finished project is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of both of these and the papers work so well with the different embossing folders Liz, great looking feminine and masculine birthday cards. x
ReplyDeleteBoth cards show off that design so well. So glad you submitted your card in pink to our challenge at Die Cut Divas.
