I'm in the middle of blitzing my crafty room, which is long overdue! I came across box with backgrounds I'd made a long time ago and never used, so I thought I'd use a snippet of one of the backgrounds to make a tag for the Tag-Along (and ATCs) Challenge.
The background was made using the Rubber Band Technique Loll demonstrated HERE. The video was made 8 years ago, so I guess my snippet has been in the box for quite a few years! Basically the pattern was made with rubber bands around a stamping block, stamped using an embossing pad and embossed with gold embossing powder on a white piece of card. After the pattern was embossed, Distress Inks in turquoise and orange were blended over the top. I used a Stampin' Up punch to make the tag from the inked panel. I used it again with a snippet of white card to punch a top of the tag, which I layered over the inked tag and added a white strip along the bottom, corner rounding the bottom corners. The Memory Box 'Chloe Stem' die cut was in my box of odd die cuts, left over from a previous project. I found a scrap of orange ribbon, which I tied to the top of the tag. So..... as the tag is made entirely of snippets, I'll be sharing my tag over in the Snippets Playground.
I am joining in the following Challenges:

A lovely tag Liz - I've several Chloe stems in my oddments box too!

That's a technique I'd forgotten about so it's great that you kept that piece in a box to bring out as a reminder. Thanks for the reminder of how it was achieved too. A lovely tag for the Tag-along challenge and also lots of Snippets used for the Playground challenge.
ReplyDeleteGood find Liz and timely reminder of the rubber band technique which I've not done in so very long, love the vibrant colours and then the pop of white, lovely to see you at Tag-Along (and ATC's) challenge, many thanks for joining us.

Your white die cut looks great against your background. I remember doing the rubber bands but not embossing. Thanks also for sharing with us at Tag-along (and ATCs) and for your get well wishes.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun technique and the result is beautiful-a gorgeous tag Liz. xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous vibrant tag Liz, I love your coloured rubber band technique background. I’d never heard of it before but it is so effective and makes the white flower really pop! Xx
ReplyDeleteSuper looking tag and congrats on making it entirely with snippets.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse for a mug of hot chocolate shortly. xxx
What a cool tag, and a great snippet!
ReplyDeleteSuch a striking mix of technique and serendipity. The gold‑embossed rubber band pattern gives the background so much movement, and the turquoise and orange blend keeps it feeling bright and energetic. The crisp white Chloe Stem is the perfect contrast, letting the colors shine while adding a clean focal point. The layered top, rounded corners, and that little pop of orange ribbon finish everything with such polish. A beautiful way to give those long‑saved snippets a fresh moment.
