Crafty Calendar Challenge ~ All White

The May Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today and the theme is 'All White', so we would love to see all your White on White creations.  Just a simple DT card today as it was the first one I made using mainly just my left hand after my little mishap, but I'm pleased how it turned out.

I used a snippet of white card with a Darice embossing folder which I bought in a charity shop a while ago and this is its first outing. I attached a scrap of white hessian type ribbon to the embossed panel, which I had corner rounded.  The panel was then layered over the card blank which I had also corner rounded.  The sentiment was one I had already stamped from the Stampin’ Up ‘Humming Along’ set and I hand cut a mat from a white snippet to make it more rigid.  The sentiment was attached with foam pads to add some extra dimension.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th May and I'm looking forward to seeing all your All White creations.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  2. Your all white design looks so elegant with the embossed panel adding such crisp texture, and I love how the hessian style ribbon softens the layout while the rounded corners keep everything cohesive, and the raised sentiment works beautifully to give the card subtle depth, especially impressive since you created it while working through limited movement, making the finished piece feel even more thoughtful and polished.

  11. Hi Liz, that is such a pretty card - you've really got the layers and interest needed to stop 'white on white' melding into one. Sorry to be late with my get well wishes as well - I've just gone back and read what happened, that must've properly hurt! You have my sympathies and hope you are healing up well. Sarah P.S. - I will join you on the injuries bench - without the pain, but with the inconvenience of not being able to craft properly - my problem is a DVT in my leg, I'm banned from sitting at a desk for longer than 30mins at a go!

  13. Your "little mishap!" Your attitude inspires me, Liz, because it was a huge mishap and you haven't let it slow you down for long! Your WOW design is so elegant with the beautiful embossing and the way you did the sediment banner! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS and best wishes for continued healing! Hugs, Darnell
