After 12 weeks, I've finally been discharged by the hospital physiotherapist today, following my fall in April. I still have to keep doing the exercises with my hand and wrist to ensure that my fingers bend like they are supposed to do and to strengthen my wrist. The good news is that I can easily use my right hand again to turn the handle on my Big Shot, cut fairly accurately with scissors and my writing is legible again. 🤣
My 17 year old great niece passed her driving test last Friday and this is the card I made for her.
I used a Cuttlebug 'Spots and Dots' embossing folder for the embossed panel. A black snippet was used with a Tattered Lace '1960’s Car' die. The red L was die cut from a tiny red snippet using a Trimcraft 'Alphabet' die. I layered it on a white square and a black mat (more snippets), before cutting it into two pieces. A 'Congratulations' strip of ribbon finished off my card.
I am joining in the following challenges:

What a wonderful card to commemorate your great niece’s accomplishment Liz! And I’m so glad you’re healing up and what good news - to be able to craft unhindered :o) Thanks for joining in at the Alphabet Challenge. Nancy J, DT
ReplyDeleteLiz it is great news, that your hand is better now. And you made a lovely card for your niece. I love that 'Mini' diecut (my youngest daughter has got a Mini Cooper!).
ReplyDeleteLia xx (also with my DT hat on for CYHTP)
I’ve got a Mini Clubman, my second Mini. My daughter is on her 4th Mini… her first one was the original design, so tiny! xx

ReplyDeleteGlad that you have finished your physio and that your hand is so much better and you are able to much more easily use it properly. This is a super card for your great niece on passing her driving test, and the lovely black swirly patterned car looks great with the white and red mats and layers, and the spots and Dots EF makes a terrific background on the lower half of the card, and beautifully finished with the cut in half 'L' plate and the sentiment ribbon across the centre. x

Oh Liz I'm so glad to hear your hand/wrist is improving. My sister (a hair stylist) broke her wrist last August after a fall at the pool and it took her a good 6 months to get back to 'normal' ... she used me as her guinea pig along the way with cutting, etc lol. Congrats to the new driver ... fabulous card I'm sure she will cherish!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in the fun at our Can You Handle the Pressure challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Wonderful news on your physio discharge, and this bold black‑white‑red congratulations card is such a perfect way to celebrate your great niece’s driving‑test success; the Tattered Lace 1960s car looks fantastic against the Spots and Dots embossing, and the split L‑plate and ribbon sentiment finish the design with a crisp, confident touch.
