Chinese Dragon

On our Ruby Wedding Anniversary trip to China last September, we met lots of lovely people, including a lovely American couple.  A CD dropped through my door this week from them, with the most amazing 45 minute slide show of photos of our trip, all set to music.  What wonderful memories it brought back.  I wanted to make them a special Thank You card, with an oriental theme.
I used a Creative Expressions Chinese dragon stamp, which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  Although I don't heat emboss very often, I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing the dull powder come to life when it's heated. I kept to the traditional Chinese colours for my card and hope the Chinese writing says what it's supposed to say!

I seem to have two new followers this week, but can't work out who they are.  If it's you, please leave me a comment so I can welcome you on my next post and put a link to your blog.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

  2. I'm one of your new followers - my name probably comes up on the GFC widget as "Grapevine", can't seem to change it to the real me!
Love the card, I'm a huge fan of Oriental designs, and with Chinese New Year only a few days away it's perfectly timed.

this is so appropriate for the New Chinese Year coming up.
Love your fab design, and the red is supposed to be a very lucky colour, I think in
    China.
Great Stamped and heat embossed dragon too.

  9. Oh this is impressive with the brilliant red & black & dragon motif in the splendid gold embossing. What a lovely way to say thank you in such a special themed way to your travel companions. How thoughtful of them to share their vacation photos with you & I'm envious that you got to visit such a fascinating country. Bet you had such fun & saw spectacular vistas. TFS & Hugs
